Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I did a Zwift race tonight, and won - at least according to Zwiftpower. There were 3 of us, down from an initial 5 of us, then 4 of us, right up till 1/3 of the way through the second and last lap. Then one of the group took off, and rode the remaining 2/3 of a lap at about 3.6 W/kg - WELL above the limit for "D"! He ended up with an average power for the whole race higher than EVERYONE in the 'C' race. Meanwhile I dropped the other guy while chasing the sandbagger, and once he was 25 seconds behind, he disappeared - either dropped out or got disconnected.

The whole race was 55 minutes, which left me totally gassed, esp. since I didn't stop pushing till the end, even knowing I would only come in second. This route has a lot of up and down, including 3 climbs of about 1/2 mile or so, one of which has sections as high as 15%. So, not a route that favors the fat.

No marks on the car. I’m going with Erie (later Erie Lackawanna). I think they used red.
