No one told me about this. I could be a local legend.

Hoping to take some long weekend trips once NJ state park campgrounds re-open, which I think is supposed to happen late next week. Woodcrest PATCO station to Belleplain State Forest in Woodbine is a good way to start since it's mostly flat. Might also do one to French Creek if I can get a reservation. (All 199 sites were booked last weekend.)
The ultimate goal is Erie to Philly starting the weekend after Labor Day. An old friend who I have no seen in decades has a cool B&B/farm place just south of the NY border above Smethport, PA. You actually have to go into NY to reach it. Want to spend a couple of days there. I also want to visit Kinzua Bridge State Park. I have so much vacation time that I can stretch it out to two weeks so I don't have to ride back into the city on a weekday.

Huh...Suntour Accushift works with Dura Ace RD (7402)
Of course don't feel compelled to read it, but this, in a nutshell, is what fascinates me no end about the C&V world. I have, in my past, had a similar fascination for old farm machinery.

This would have been today's planned segment:
"The Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway continues to remain impassable to through traffic due to significant snow remaining at higher elevations. Beaverhead County officials are monitoring the snow depth and predict that they should be able to plow open the Pioneer Scenic Byway near mid-June. " Until the Byway is opened, travelers in the area are advised to be cautious of changing road conditions and respect the road closures. To become stuck in a snowbank puts you and someone that might be willing to help you at risk for personal injuries as well as damage to your vehicle."
The weather is actually not that bad at lower elevations, but the Byway's summit is just under 8,000'. Heading north from there it's a great 26 mile, net elevation loss to town of Wise River.
There are two guys racing south on the Great Divide route. One is between Butte and Wise River. Wonder if he'll push on up the hill as far as he can or hang out in town.

so was does BB creaking sound like? My BB started squeaking this morning pretty early in the ride. It was only doing it when the cadence was above 90. I did ride yesterday when the roads were still soaking wet, so maybe water got somewhere it shouldn’t have?

Just tired by the end? Or hurty?
And that's one interesting ride map. Are you penned in by some of the main strips that run through the peninsula?
Oh, side note: my son says that he's craving chocolate chip pancakes from First Watch.

I won’t say that it didn’t hurt, but it was more of my comfort level reached a zero by mile 57. Nothing I did was comfortable, and it was actually more painful to stop pedaling than to pedal.
As far as route. I just go where my comfort level takes me. I stay to the west of warwick blvd which is one of the major roads through newport news. I havnt crosses a major intersection on my bike yet. Something I think I would feel safer with a group than by myself the first couple of times. I’m also really familiar with the roads that I use, and no about how long it will take me to get where I am going if that make sense.
When I get more comfortable I would like to ride from my house to williamsburg via york town.
I have yet to eat at first watch, we’re heading to sals by victor today.

My memory is that when they start making noise it emerges first on slower RPMs--e.g., standing and mashing up hills.
