Talk to your doctor and ask if it's REALLY necessary to be on that class of medicine, or could they switch you to a different one that won't drop your HR.
It's possible you could go faster if that's allowed, but don't do it on your own.

It's the Atenolol. That's a beta blocker. It does SEVERAL things but slowing down your HR is one of them.

I love the double take when he reads my chart, its comical.

I got three Strava notifications while I was out on a ride today, all of them to tell me that I'd lost KOMs. Now, keep in mind that I'm a big boy, so the only KOMs I'm getting are short, high output kinds of affairs. Yeah, no - no one just beat me in a flying half mile by 11 seconds. Not anyone around here, at least. Likewise, no one beat my time on a flat, 1.2 mile stretch by 55 seconds. Damn people and their phones that they forget to pause. ![Not Amused](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/brood.gif)

If it's over 3 minutes and a pretty well travelled segment, top 5-10% is probably the best that I can expect - between group rides and a handful of guys hammering segments on tri rigs, it's tough sledding. If it's a drag race, my odds are a little better.

On today's ride, one of the cyclists I know has that fancy new Specialized saddle that is 3-D printed. It looks like it's made from some type of flexible crabon fiber lattice.
He did say it's comfy. If you have to ask the price, it's too much but I think it's $450.

I think it’s the highest high end Power saddle. The basic model, which I ride can be had for under $100 from scam bay. It’s one of those saddles performs the best with a 1-2 degree downward angle.

The guy with the fancy S-Works Power Mirror saddle (I checked, that's it) is actually a fairly nice guy and quite mellow. But he did have an IT company that he founded many years ago and apparently sold it to Wall Street a few years ago and now is more-or-less retired, serves on a few boards, plays golf, and rides bikes. He has some fancy new Porsche that is all-electric that he is getting later this month. He also passed me once on some fancy MacLaren convertible that looked sporty.
So he does okay. My younger daughter wants him to adopt her so he can help with USC tuition. Not gonna happen.

Friday wee MTB ride with a friend
Sat dog Nosework session. In which Baby Ash did very well but was completely taken aback by a curious mini donkey. Hard to concentrate near something like that.
Today climbing ride with a friend.
Now watermelon margarita on the veranda while dinner finishes cooking. Homemade shake n bake style chicken, roasted carrots and broccoli. Cooking the giblets and back for the Dogz and roasting the breast to slice for sandwiches for the Yosemite trip.
@LAJ where are the Lotus pics?
