Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pictures containing snow should be banned for at least two more months.

It was 70 today here in Minnesota. In a few weeks we could have snow on the ground. I'm trying to pretend like summer is still going and the pictures of the snow is really not helping.

Although once I dust off the downhill skis I'll probably warm up to winter again. The transitions are tough though.

Nice looking bike. What components did it originally come with?

an FSA carbon crank and mostly 105. I sold the crank and moved balance to an old steel bike I have as a rain bike.

That picture was from my previous life. It is the only bike that I didn't sell when the doctor told me that my riding days were over.

OK so your "buddy" didn't downshift and was slowly making his way up the hill leaning over the bars grunting all the way as you overtake him from behind...

Gee, thanks for that mental image.
Nice buy on the bike BTW.

Yeah, if you paid $200 for that bike you stole it. Good work.

that Raleigh is a great bike with the triple, fender and rack eyelets, especially for $200. Even if you end up upgrading to a lighter race bike, don't get rid of it.

Yeah, no kidding. It'd make a good commuter bike. Stick a dynohub wheel & lights on it and you'll be set for $400-600 total.
