Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lake Keowee, SC riding the Cherokee Scenic Hwy. Fantastic ride across the upstate. They've turned the shoulder into a decent bike lane, even then almost all drivers gave me extra room. Few gas stations and park welcome centers spaced nicely along the way. SC's highest point, Sassafras Mountain, is a short detour. Saw just a few other cyclist. Highly recommended!

Near the swing-bridge, just downstream from Saint Paul, Minnesota:

This one was shot just a bit further downstream:

This was shot at the Marina in Hudson, Wisconsin. That's the St. Croix River in the background:

What an incredible photograph! I hope you folks down there don't get pounded too hard by these storms. Time to seek higher ground, I think...

thanks DQRider, it's been a tough summer for us, very wet. so far i'm high and dry but the rain has made training hard for me, i don't like to ride alone when it rains and usually when it's wet i'll ride the dirt bike. but it's been so wet i really need a jetski.

This is SoCal. Water doesn't fall from the sky. Water doesn't flow on the ground. And as I'm about 70 miles from the Pacific, this is the only water I can find.
