Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Saturday afternoon, we added another member to our family, and I became a very happy new grandpa. My oldest daughter gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. My eyes leaked a bit as I watched my mom hold the baby of her baby's baby.

I'm under strict orders not to post any pics, for now. Not sure why. That decision is above my pay grade.

If nothing else, you need to let the parents do all of their FB and Instagram stuff first. I get it.

We were concerned about posting pics from the wedding before the kids had a chance to do so. Even though we paid for it all, we didn't want to steal their moment.

I've used the humbug method throughout, and have one guess left on my phone. Ninguna idea. My laptop, at home, has four more tries on it. There are only four or five unused letters. I wonder if I can guess correctly with all five.

I guess '89 was the year of the last haircut I paid for. I think they were only $6 back then. Not sure how much it cost in Philly.

The places in Portland that charged $50 in the '90s would set you up with a beer or a glass of wine included for that price.

I don't know how much my hair cuts cost. I tag along with Mrs. rjones28 to her beautician, when it seems like I need a trim.

My method is for once you get to a situation like "XATCH" on guess 4 and can't try all the options before failing. I wouldn't start with it...

I'm taking this week off, since it's one of those where you can get 9 days off in a row for only the price of 3 vacation days. I WAS going to take Rango for walks every day, but Mrs. GeneJockey had the bright idea to put a rug in the Foyer, so Rango. wouldn't slip on the hardwood floor. I was getting ready for a walk, and Rango got all excited and bounded onto the rug, which then slid out from under him and somehow he cut the skin on his left rear foot. I didn't discover this till we were half a block into the walk and he was slowing down, rather than his usual trot that I can ONLY JUST keep up with. So, now he's got a bandage and is on the Injured Reserve List, poor boy!

I'd probably avoid this one: Sold and shipped by Joybuy | Jingdong E-Commerce (Trade) Hong Kong Corporation

Looks like they only sell weird sub-Tourney level stuff though
I've bought from 365 and wheel and sprocket on ebay. I can only assume they are the same

Just to confirm with BF's Brightest, parking like this is implicitly waives the Right of Irateness and grants permission, to the whosoever should park next to them, of carefree door-flinging, amiright?

Generally, though I might be tempted to check what it's like on the other side of ...whatever that thing is. I've seem many times when one person parks way off center, but just barely within the lines, so the car next to it is parked even more off center, actually ON the line, and the one after that is over the line. And it all starts with one person.

That's why I always park where nobody else wants to park. I probably get as much exercise walking long distances in parking lots as I do riding (saying that sarcastically, but not really).

Your door flinging will likely hurt your car more than that G Wagon.

It looks like an old International. My dad used to do that intentionally, to make sure no one parked there and so could not ding his door. He did it only when the next space was empty though

There was gnashing here too. And even though it says 6/6, it was actually 8/6.
