Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When did I say it was about today? No one does duck and cover anymore. It was gone by the time I was in school in the mid-'80s. Now it's active shooter drills, which... that's a whole other ball of wax.

post 2173. Jonesey. i thought by that response they were doing under the desk for nukes in 2024. I guess he was referring to active shooter but it obviously wasn't clear.

Successful communication ends with understanding the message. A rare case where i can't blame vol.

The US mortgage system is unique.

Oh, wow. Well that answers why it got so sideways. He was referring to the active shooters having filled that "void".

There's 30-year bonds.

Nonsense grammar rules, in large part because our devices know better than we do what we intended to type. I find Apple products to be much worse than Android. I have no truck with Microsoft, so I can’t speak to that platform. I’m with you as a former Browns fan. Fortunately, Joe Burrow comes from my home county, in southeast Ohio. So it’s an easy jump. I tended to be more of a Reds fan than and Indians fan anyway, when I was into baseball.

Ugh, I had a miserable night. I just could not fall asleep, and my muscles ached along with a little funny feeling in my throat. I still feel a bit crummy.

Of course I checked a covid test, it's negative. I am still wearing a mask at work because if I have a bug it still could be covid (sometimes it takes 2-4 days of symptoms to test positive) or a non-covid virus.

My wife has been feeling the same way for the last week. Covid test = negative.

It's lower RR than butyl, and packs smaller. I think it's easier to install than latex as well.

Lighter and more flat resistant though I've never noticed that. What i like about them is they pack small, like really, really small.

I've yet to have the valve failures expressed here.

ok . Yeah I saw those. My guy on ebay offered me an 85 cent refund on the $5.00 tube that is no good. Looks like I'm moving over to Aliexpress.

Well wishes@DougRNS.
When it rains it pours.

Your story always makes me think of the Jorge Luis Borges short story “The South”.
Borges wrote some really excellent short stories, If he wrote longer works, I haven’t read them, but I’m certain they would be excellent too.

There are a lot of bugs floating around. I tell people that if they have a "cold" the chances it's covid is roughly 50-50.

I just saw a patient (a retired surgeon) who just came back a week ago from a family vacation to Panama. He said everyone he traveled with got a cold last week. He did not self-test. To be safe, we swabbed him. Of course it was postive for covid.

Sigh.

At the ripe age of 71 1/2 I am discovering the great benefits of a good nights sleep. Better late than never.

less rolling resistance, less than 1/3 the weight. 4 tubes,@2 oz each, 2 in the seat bag and one in each tyre, = 8 ounces. Thats half a lbs. They store in 1/4 of the space. Smaller seat bag. Giroscopicly wheel spin up faster too.
I blame the failures on an unscrupulous seller. Every 4 pack has one stem failure? Calling b.s. on that. He offered me less than half what I just paid for it in a refund. Scammer. I'm going to give the Aliexpress ones a try.
