I get bored after a few hrs on solo rides as well. Sometimes I dread the ride plans I make for myself, but it feels good afterward.

Went on a ~30 min through my (new) neighborhood. Man, it's nice around here! Wide streets, well kept places, smiling people. Even ran into a couple diff cycling friends/couples on my route. Best part: my knee is feeling a lot better, I'm no longer worried about it. I think I'll be able to resume business as usual.

Up next: fancy dinner date with my gf. This time its her idea and her treat

Today I put on a jersey that I wore back in my mountain bike days. Last year I tried it on, and it was so tight that I wouldn't ever wear it because it looked terrible. So after putting that jersey on today, I got on my bike and rode to work with it on, flapping in the wind because it was too big.

Haha. It turns out that not only was the alternator bad, the battery was on its way out, too. When idling, the system voltage was now a healthy 14V, but the battery was low enough the next day that it wouldn't start! Luckily, my folks also have a VW from the same era, and Dad just happened to have a newer battery that he bought when theirs had an issue. Here's hoping that the car stays fixed for at least a little while!

Not southern enough. Once you get near the river it gets really interesting.

I'm with @johnnytheboy. Solo century is not much fun. Especially if you're grinding the whole time.

Over the weekend I had the hard decision of trading one Cross team for another. Who knew local amateur racing could be so involved.

Went on a really nice ride through some rolling hills and countryside and then went back to a friends house and they have not only a pool but a brand new hot tub which means post ride was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also the day before got to hang out a vintage record shop and got the Mountain Goats: Beautiful Rat Sunset 10inch, Two old Pansy Division 7inchers and a ton of LPs from Doonsbury the Musical to Rush: Exit Stage Left to John McLaughlin: Shakti and some other random stuff. My friend picked up an original Crass: Christ - The Album which was awesome. We also got to check out a neat bike shop with the new Merz Specialized Sequoia since we couldn't ride because of the weather (or we could have but didn't want to be cold and wet)

All in all a fun couple of days.
