I have an early eighties nishiki prestige in very good condition. Tange infinity tubing. It's 53cm, a little too small for me. I'm looking to trade for something of similar quality/condition in the 56-58cm.
Prefer email, tomchagolla AT gmail DOT com

Thanks!

(DOH! I overlooked this trade thread when I posted in the main Classic forum!)

I'm working up an old Fuji S-10S (12 speed) for winter commuting.
I need 3 metal brake cable clips for the top tube
Anyone got 3 they'd like to part with?

I think I have some old Suntour DER components
Shifters
misc stuff
Ask and I'll look and take pics

Re-posted upthread - my needs have changed.

Need:
-Shimano 7-speed cassette freehub, Hyperglide. 130mm spacing is acceptable if that's what you've got, I'd prefer 126mm. Road hubs (105, 600, Ultegra, etc) also preferred.
-Or, if something I have piques your interest, make me an offer! If you have something interesting, maybe I'll take it!

Have:
Shimano UN-53 BB, 63x118mm, barely used

-27" 3-speed rear wheel - alloy rim, Sears hub (a good-quality Sturmey-Archer AW knock-off, at least as good as the original). Includes choice of 1/8" 16-tooth sprocket, or 3/32" 22-tooth sprocket.
Each sprocket above available separately. Used.

-SR "custom" (actually pretty generic) forged alloy road stem, 25.4mm clamp, 65mm reach. Used.

-Unbranded (? - I think they're Shimano) platform-style pedals with clips and straps. Honestly, these are so-so as platforms go, but they work. Appear to be lightly used. These are NOT double-sided plain pedals.

Other things I seem to have, after a quick poke around:
-50 tooth Sugino chainring, 110mm BCD, not too much wear
-44 tooth Sugino chainring, 110mm BCD, a bit chewed-up from shifts, teeth look pretty good. Might need some slight straightening.
-14 tooth Shimano BMX cog (splined) - this is new, never used
-A couple of dusty old Weinmann centerpull calipers (one of them is in pieces...)
-Old MKS touring pedals, look a bit beat-up but still turn smoothly. They've got some pretty bleh plastic toe clips attached. The pedals themselves are good, I used them for a while. Very solid.

For trade:

Matching pair of 27" wheels. Araya box rims laced to low-flange hubs. The rear has a Shimano freehub, but I don't have a cassette, and don't think it's worth it to buy one, so if you have an extra one, I'd also be interested in getting that. I have many many many things for trade, and don't really want anything. But if you want the wheels, PM me and I'm sure we could find something I might want.

Have:

22" Blue Schwinn Varsity. Recently received from Junk Yard Bike I have replaced the front derailleur and will be making sure the tires and tubes are set to go. Still needs replacement cables, then it is probably ready to ride. Does still need some TLC.

1974ish Raleigh Sports woman's bike. Green, in good condition, some paint issues on top tube. I haven't actually ridden it, but it rolls well. May need tires and tubes, seat is pretty sad Brooks.

1980ish Nishiki Custom Sport. White, frame is in excellent shape. The rest of the bike needs some work, but the frame is in very nice shape (heavy lugged steel, a pretty frame) chrome rims. I plan to keep the Shimano 600 derailleurs, but I can put something else on it if you want.

Will deliver or meet within an hour or so from Wilkes-Barre... maybe further if you want.

Want:

My dignity back. I have more project bikes than I need, and to be honest it has become an obsession... Just give these a nice home. I need some of my apartment back. I want to concentrate on a couple of bikes, and do more riding than gathering of bikes.

Other things I want are:

Nice set of S-7 rims (36 hole) or 3 speed wheels for my Corvette
High rise Rams horn bars.
banana seat and sissy bar.
Any consumables (brake pads, tape, cables etc).

Other?

None of these physical things are required, but if you really think you need to give me something for what you get, then make an offer.

Pictures can be taken and sent if you want to see what you're getting.

have:
Some Suntour stuff: 27.2mm Superbe Pro seatpost, Superbe English-threaded BB (GONE) Superbe front (clamp on) and rear ders.
Planning on selling a Trek 520. 22" frame. Original components save for front wheel (replaced with a rather nice vintage Dura Ace wheel) and seatpost. Needs a new chain, hoods are dirty, cogs could maybe use replacing, but otherwise in nice condition.
Modern: Truvativ Rouleur silver alloy crankset, 52/39, with matching ISIS BB. Probably the best stiffness for the price.

want:
Miyata frame, around 57cm. 912, 914, Pro or Team Miyata. I only really want the frame. Will consider other neat Japanese road frames from the 80s.
Other parts for this 80s build: headset (Tange Falcon, Superbe Pro...) stem and bars (nice SR Sakae, or Nitto), seatpost (will need a 26.8mm for most Miyatas I think)
Pair of 32h rims. Nice Arayas would be good, but I'd be okay with a modern pair of Velocity Aeroheads. Silver.

For trade:

1999 Gary Fisher Tassajara frameset w/RockShox Jett fork, Alvio front derailer, and sealed BB cartridge (no crankarm bolts). Small frame - forgot exactly what size it is.

Will trade only the frame/fork/FD/BB assembly, although these other components are also up for trade - either seperately or with the frameset:

*Weinmann rear wheel - rim is a dual-wall BRX-3 (if I'm not mistaken), stainless spokes, 8-speed cassette hub
*Araya front wheel - cheapo single-wall w/rusty galvinized spokes, cheap Q/R front hub (available with bike frameset only)
*Right hand crankarm, minus chainring (chainring teeth are wrecked beyond safe use)
*Shimano LX thumb shifters, for triple + 8-speed.
*Cheapo brake levers and three matching V-brake arms
*Bontarager flat handlebar

If a trade cannot be worked out within a week, she'll be eBayed.

Will trade for:

Lugged Reynolds 531 or Columbus SL/SLX/TSX steel road frameset in 23" or 23.5" (seat lug to BB center).

Take care,

-Kurt

New update --- WANTED/NEED:

Looking for the following Campagnolo Victory and other components - preferably in very nice condition:

Victory: Brake calipers, one brake lever (must be NOS or without a scratch), crankset, seatpost

Other: Regina corncob 6 or 7-speed freewheel (not that important), Cinelli Giro D'Italia or Criterium bars, new logo, Cinelli or ITM 120-130mm stem.

Take care,

-Kurt

(The above is not definite, and is dependent on whether I win a particular frameset on eBay. Stay tuned.)

Yep - it does.

It works for me though, I have aquired a nice lot of Campagnolo parts this way, and at good prices too.

Hell, infiltrate the collectors market with enough cheapskates such as I, and we might see C-Record RDs at $10 bucks a pop someday

Have:
  • Brooks B.17 standard saddle. Honey Brown, black rails, small rivets. Maybe 100 miles on it -- but not fully broken in yet.
  • Cinelli 1R stem, new logo. 115mm.
  • Shimano 600 AX aero post. 27.2mm.
  • Set of milled-out Campagnolo SR levers. Very cleanly done -- red accents in the cutouts, though I'm sure it'd be easy to remove the red and add a different accent. Some scratching -- these really need the anodizing stripped, and a good buffing done.
  • 2 Campy front derailleurs. SR style cutouts on the cage, but a non-painted upper pivot. Latter day Gran Sport or NR?
  • First gen Shimano front derailleur. Silver.
  • Shimano Dura Ace AX crankset + pedals. 170mm. Pedals were recently rebuilt -- smooth, no slop. Cages + straps -- straps have been replaced. 53/39 rings.
  • Alfredo Binda toe straps. These are the later type that are a layer of leather laminated to a thin layer of...some sort of fabric. Ink-stamped Alfredo Binda. Plastic rollers. Unused, but plenty of shelf wear, so they won't look out of place on that well used bike of yours.
Want:
  • Campy CdA or Record aero-or-not levers. The ones with the push button releases + plug tops that allow for aero and non-aero routing. Destined for a set of Deltas.
  • C-Record crown race dust seal. Its the small plastic ring that goes on the crown race to seal the lower headset cup. Why oh why am I always missing something like this? This was for the late 80's early 90's headset -- don't think the original c-record headset had the seal.

Condition just needs to be decent -- I don't have any show bikes...everything will be ridden. Pictures are available for anything I have. I also have some additional items -- Campy Record hubs, 1 record + 1 gran sport headset, shifters, another set of SR levers, spare rings, couple of ttt stems + bars, etc. Nothing particularly noteworthy, but if you have what I need, I just might have what you need. Please ask.

One flaw in the logic, this will only happen if we let them go for near the same price we pay for them... For some reason if I get a killer deal, it would be tough to sell it at about the same price.

True - although in such a situation of easy-to-get parts, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have as many second thoughts about selling such parts as we do now.

Also, if prices did fall to that extent, killer deals on C-Record RDs would be $5, and the expensive ones would be $15...
