Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm interested in placing a pre-order for a particular, in-demand coffee grinder. A number of the color options are listed as "coming soon," and the importer explicitly states "email sales to confirm availability prior to ordering" so I did, asking if the various "coming soon" color options were expected to be available for this round of orders. On their first reply, which took two business days, they completely ignored that question, answering only a question about the general timeframe for delivery of the pre-orders. I emailed back to clarify and their second reply was basically, "this is what we have available" and with a link back to the product listing/pre-order page that says to email to confirm.

I think that I'm just about done with any thoughts of ordering that grinder, at least from that outfit.

TBH I'm kind of the same way with cycling. I can't bring myself to watch it -- especially since it's so hard to watch in the U.S. and you have to go out of your way and jump through a lot of hoops just to watch a video with terrible quality and announcers speaking Dutch at 6 in the morning or whatever.
It's even harder to watch in Mexico
NBC Sports Gold doesn't even offer it, though they used to

If I had to guess, "supplements" that say, in small print, "Not intended to diagnose or treat any disease or condition".

Updates.

Sit and stand desk to arrive 6/22.

Inversion table still in a box. I got a call from a friend after work yesterday and we talked for an hour. Then I had to cut the grass. Didn't eat dinner until 8, so no energy remained for assembly activities.

Appointment with the neurologist was vexing. My spine looks great and the only thing wrong are the 2 tears in the fibrous tissue around my spine, disc or whatever. No surgery or spinal cord stimulation indicated. Physical therapy and swimming walking and anything that doesn't cause pain is suggested/encouraged. Inversion table approved as the Dr has one himself. Other than that; "wait it out". I don't know how to feel about this but at least I'm not being drawn and quartered tomorrow. In fact, no medieval beat downs of any kind are on the schedule.

He set an appointment for 9/14. I hope I can cancel because I've returned to normal.

I got out for a ride between showers. On the Letour Luxe. It's putting on weight.

Also, guavas are on. I'd walk a mile for a guava. How about you, Velo Vol ?

So, essentially you said to your doctor, "It hurts when I go like that", and he said, "Don't go like that."

He could pair it with a nice ripe mango.

In my limited experience, the waiting lasts about a year. By that time you're ready to accept it as being permanent, and are surprised and relieved when one day you realize it's gone.

Now the NBA I can watch on TV. It's fast paced action, incredible athletes, and the games aren't too long. I love pro football but it's tough to watch a 4 hour game with tons of commercials.
I also love pro boxing, sometimes. I no longer have HBO so I never get to see it anymore.

The unpacking of the inversion table took 20 minutes so I stopped until tomorrow. Got home later than I thought from the Dr. and I had to finish some mowing so I didn't get the early start I had hoped for. Need some decent sleep.
