How long are you there for?
If you have another day, you really head south on the BRP (cycling or driving). The section between Mount Pisgah and Waterrock Knob is very scenic (Velo Vol approved). The climb up 215 from the valley (north side) to the BRP is great.

I figured out the drag problem on the Fulcrum wheels. Too much bearing preload. I undid the grub screw, turned the preload collar just about 1/8 of a turn and it was already better. Another 1/8th and it would turn from its own weight. No play, so I tightened it up again. Tomorrow will tell the tale.

Washed the car and put one if those highphalutin type of ceramic coatings on it. Smelled good..... detailed the 09 Tarmac, and swapped in the carbon wheels. (Which is a pain in the ass because I have to swap out the brake pads and reset the brakes for wider carbon rims)I had to grind the rivets off on the cassette. They were making contact with the hub shell. It wouldn't freewheel. All fixeded now.
Think I'll start working on Contador next week. I need one bike ready for Kentucky next month.

Non lazy Sunday afternoon. mowed the lawns and then spent about an hour and a half of feeding branches into a woodchipper. hopefully that will be the last mowing required before winter. Woodchippers are fun though. relaxing with a milk stout with dinner.

Yesterday was awesome.
The course was super dry and amazingly difficult. Many 18+ grades to climb with quite a few hike a bikers. The steepest segments were at nearly the end and the course finished with a steep 200 foot climb.
I was pleased with the effort considering I woke up at 5 and couldn’t keep anything down. Didn’t have enough breakfast so I had to eat a lot on the course. Took a shot of fireball from someone at mile 40 and that kept me going.
Boswell won, averaged something like 20, which is insane. I think I could have averaged maybe 15 if I had felt better in the morning and ate more- oh well, there’s always next year.
We met the owner of Mid South at a restaurant later yesterday and talked to him for quite a while. He’s really cool- I enjoyed talking to him. He said he’d put us in for 23 if we want, I’m considering it.
Official numbers for the day according to the race timing we’re 58 miles, 7350 feet and 13.8 average. All in dirt.

I will never be the emperor of Wyoming. My Dad attempted to move us to Rock Springs when I was a yute. The whole family put the kabosh on that. Bear in mind this was the early seventies and it was a total ****hole at that time.

Sunday used to be long ride day. But now that I'm trying to get back in shape, for my age anyway, it's my day off. I ride every other day--14 miles at present--and do floor workouts the other three days. I tried both together and it was exhausting to the point of my being useless the rest of the day. I will do a light workout in a few, just to get the blood moving and avoid being a potato for the day.
