Cretin naranja
Got the Cretin frameset today and transferred all the parts from the original naranja. Right now there's a winter storm going on, but will post some pics when things clear up.

OK, well it's going to be awhile before the snow melts and I can take some decent outdoor pics of the Cretin naranja, so I'll post a crappy indoor pic of it for now. Mostly just wanting to post something relevant in this thread to drown out the noise. Not seen in this pic is a stem spacer bell on the other side of the steerer tube.

^^^ That looks great ! Thanks for posting.
One recommendation; tip the nose up a bit on that Brooks saddle and perhaps lower it as well. I think you will find it to be a lot more comfortable that way.

Thanks for the tip. Literally my first ride on it, so definitely found some fine tuning was in order. Needed a slight bit more setback as well.

OK, so I finally got some dry and sunny weather to take some outdoor pics and get some riding in on the new Cretin Naranja. I'm really pleased with the overall quality of this frame, good clean welds, good paint, good frame alignment. Handling is a lot more lively and responsive than the old naranja with its steel frameset and road geometry. The frame is a lot stiffer with a bit more ride harshness and some toe overlap, but nothing excessive. I really like the way it turned out !
Overall weight dropped about 1-1/2 lbs, but it still weighs over 21 lbs, so it's not superlight by any means. Total cost including the FSA ZS-3 headset (thanks Scrod for alerting me to the crappy stock headset and installing it for free), Tektro R540 front brake caliper and TwoFish strap-on water bottle cage, plus shipping is about $444. The supplied 110mm JIS BB seems to be good quality and gave a perfect chainline with my Andel cranks. The Fyxation Session 700x28c tires, which run about 2mm on the large side fit fine in the rear, but were a very tight fit in the front.
I didn't use the supplied stem or seatpost. Scrod called the stem a 3 pound turd, which is a bit of hyperbole IMO as the stem is decent quality and weighs more like 1/2 lbs. The real turd IMO is the seatpost, which has an aluminum shaft but the two seat rail clamp pieces are really crappy steel stampings.

I wonder what was Leader's reasoning for making their top tubes so long, and their head tube so short on the cretin.

Pontificating about bikes. It's like when a reporter asks Jim Brown what he thinks about the fight. "Well john, I uh, I think, that uh, well uh, If that uh, man, um uh, would've uh, hit that other man, um, more, than the other man, uh, would've um, hit him, uh, well John, I think he would've won this fight."
At least it says "bicycle" right there on the side, in case anyone was wondering what it was.

If I used my normal ett measurement, I'd be on an xxs frame with a 110/120 stem. 90mm head tube is tiny.
