92 PDG 7, built by Panasonic, bought as a frameset. Rattle canned by me. Late 80s/early 90s 105 group, except the hubs, which are tricolor, laced to Araya CTL370 rims. Sorry about the non-drive side photo. My grail bike.
The bars have been lowered since this pic was taken.
The function of the green chalkboard is to keep my mind organized. and it works well in that capacity.

All of the Paramount road bikes are beautiful. There are a lot fewer of us with Paramountain/KOM-10/Paramount mountain bikes.

Only 1000 KOM-10s were made (1988-1989), and I do not know how many have survived, since their durability was not up to traditional high end Schwinn standards. (I bought mine used from a San Diego firefighter, who had already replaced the frame once.)

I was going to say that I don't think of them as Paramounts, but I thought I'd better not.
I'm already feeling bad about a BF member getting butt-hurt over my posts.

1967. It's what would in a few years would be called a P-15, but it wasn't called that in '67. Decidedly not period correct. Shimano 9-speed. Repainted by Ed Litton. The color was not in the Schwinn pallatte (but it should have been ).

On the subject of 'what is considered vintage' or 'what is considered a Paramount'. I started this thread and first, I'm not upset so please don't take it that way as you read this. I was afraid I might ruffle some feathers by posting pics of my Paramount for a few reasons, the first being its not all original and does have some modern flair (the low count spokes and the carbon fork) and some may not consider it vintage, too modernized or something along those lines. The second being the age in addition to it not being a hand built USA made (some people tend to not recognize the Japanese built bikes 'real Paramounts' and I'm not arguing one way or another as everyone is entitled to an opinion.) I started this thread thinking it would be nice for people to show off their Paramounts and was hoping to not start any arguments or anything. as far as mine goes, I do have the original rims and fork and do swap out the rims occasionally (I have them set up differently than what is on there now and just happen to have the low spoke count rims on when I took the pic.) I'd love to have a hand built Waterford but there aren't many around my area and the ones that pop up are usually more than my wife will allow me to spend. Perhaps I should have called the post 'show us your Paramounts'. Enough of this and lets see more of the bikes, shall we?

I only had the frame and did not exactly do a traditional build. VO crankset and wheels, Shimano drivetrain with Ultegra indexed bar end shifters, Nitto rando handlebars, and Tektro aero levers. One change from the photo is that I took off the 23mm trainers and replaced them with 28mm Pasela Tourguards.

What a nice collection and variety of Paramounts! It's great that our C&Vers can display such a wide assortment of the various generations of Paramounts. Even when the framesets are not maintained to original spec, these Paramounts prove how enduring and endearing they can be to certain collectors.
Even the ones outsourced to Japan are worthy of inclusion. After all, most if not all of the first generation Paramounts were outsourced by Schwinn to a local Chicago frame builder by the name of Emil Wastyn.

My Titanium Paramount- it needs a good cleaning and a fresh rebuild, but it's one sweet riding bike.

Here is my '73 P-15, came to me as a frame and fork with the campy triple. I put the rest together mostly from parts on hand, it has been my main ride the past few years.

1982 Schwinn Paramount Elite...the 10th Paramount built in February 1982. 1982 was the first full production season for the Paramount at Waterford...as record keeping was spotty back then at Waterford, Richard Schwinn guestimates that between 200 to 400 bikes were produced in 1982. Simply a gorgeous bike. I (sadly) do not own it anymore.
