Funny that I feel so observant (??tho not practicing of any creedo??) that I regularly genuflect in front of the electrical cable supports on an old bridge over a small river. My wife asks if I ever stop to immerse myself or a bike in the waters. . Just another cloudy day. Here was 1 of the 2 bikes ridden on the outandback legs. Note: the missing TT cable guides have been added. And I will find another pic from the ride in a few minutes.

edit: Amazing the little details i see as 'things still undone'. I need to learn to use a ruler instead of eye-balling it, too. Second pic with different wheelset as ridden yesterday. Does that fork look overly Frenchy on a Spanish (Basque) bike?

Riding the Giovanni (Slikker Sport), an undercover Sakae Litage. This is near the coast on the Dutch island Goeree-Overflakkee. And the flowerfields, that are in bloom right now. Sun, sea, flowers, bike, open road. Check. I think the bike and flower colours match quite well.

And this a few days ago, early in the morning. Visit to the beach area, with the Giant Peloton Superlite. A very nice bike... rides like it was made this year. This Giant model was one of the first being introduced in The Netherlands. Haven't seen them around a lot. The other (nutbrown) bike in the first pic is a Belgian Liberty/Wargee. One off, as far as I know.

I previously owned a Bianchi roadie with Ishi022. I needed another. Batavus executes a very stable frame that always feels good. With tall headtube, it's an 'endurance frame' for me, therefore the triple drivetrain - which adds all day rides with climbs.

I may need a Danish bike in the future. How tall are you?

I should be riding about 60 miles north to view the tulip fields in Skagit County, Washington USA. But it is always vehicle congested and all drivers distracted looking at fields of colour.

I saw this Southern California Rapid Transit District bus parked in the Bronx on my commute into work the other day. It was so conspicuous that I had to stop and take a look. It had historic plates and everything inside the bus looked like it was from decades ago. Pretty cool.

Another lunch break ride. Trying out some new tires on the Trek 950. I've decided to hit the hills with the mtb as often as possible figuring all the climbing will kick start the fitness level faster. Thinking a lighter wheelset in the future will be nice

Yep, 4 miles from home. 20 min by the bike if I want to be warm when I get there. Otherwise, drive to the end of the pavement, duck under the gate and start climbing. Miles upon miles of gravel road, old closed roads and Jeep trails to explore.

Another dry day in the Pacific Northwest got me out for 40 miles on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. 'Mostly two-lane roads, but some short sections of the Olympic Discovery Trail.

The dry sky meant I had yardwork that could be finally tackled, but in the Spring Buttocks Conditioning Tradition, i cruised the neighborhood for 20 min or so, up to the grape patch/tiny vineyard.

Strange weather to see the sun all day!!!

I needed to test some Ergon hand grips just installed on my Trek 850, so I rode down to Clairpointe near Bayview YC.

Hoping to spend a fair amount of time as crew on the J111 in the background, both buoy and long distance. A planing 36 footer that can do 20 knots with a sprit mounted asymmetric chute.

Yesterday was an uneventful ride. Today I had to yield for an elk crossing - this was the last of 5. Wish I had the better camera rather than the phone today.

Today again wasn't a proper ride, but I did pump tires, wipe chains cleaner, and short-ride the latest 4 Euro bikes to be acquired since the last International Bike Day, 4/19/17. I'm nothing if not tardy. The Carabela was inconveniently parked and therefore missing.

Missed this...thanks! The build thread's linked below. I've been meaning to update it once I get the correct water slides I grabbed a while ago in place. Should be any year now... The bars are solid, stiffer than the sleeved version which I've also used. I thought the velobase page showed both versions, but that's not what I see now.

Gearing is 46/36/26 x 13-32, 7 speed indexed. It's been great at doing most things well. In a way it lets the road or mountain bikes really shine when I decide on a specific route one of those bikes was made for. Otherwise I grab this and wind up where I wind up.

I rode my bike in the rain today. I didn't plan on it, but I have to admit the skies didn't look all that promising when I left. Getting sprinkled on was no biggie, but once the roads got wet...

I'd been itching for a ride in the country for a long time, so I finally got my chance yesterday (Saturday). I didn't get out until after 4pm, so I didn't have that much time before sunset. I didn't even think too hard about what route to take, and I didn't look at a map. I just headed out.

I had a really nice ride on my new Lemond. This one replaces the very similar Lemond, also titanium. Andy_antipas and I traded. He had the bigger one, and mine was too small for me.

I've been over the Mohonk climb of the Shawangunk Ridge five times according to ridewithgps, and this was my slowest time of all. Oh well. I did hit 42 mph on the way down. The bike is a bit squirrely. Maybe I can mitigate that with wider tires and a longer stem extension.

Before the ride, I found my rear tire flat. Rather than go through all the usual trouble, I just inflated it to see what happened. It held. Halfway through my ride, I realized I had forgotten to bring a pump. Oops. But I didn't have a problem. I got home and saw that I had forgotten my wallet which I always carry with me, so if I got injured and disabled, no one would know who I am.

I almost never bring my wallet with me on a ride, but I never ride without my Road Id bracelet on. I also use the Road Id app (in addition to the Ride with GPS app) so my wife "will know what ditch to pull me out of".
