How important is bike color to you?

Bike color is not that important to me.I do own some nice looking bikes and some uglies too.
My Scott Solace 30 is mostly white with black and green. Not crazy about the green.
But the price was right and it is A comfortable ride and at the same time very stiff.
I did kind of buy A Klein Q Carbon for the paint job.But Klein also made some very nice frames/bikes.
This is not my Orbea Marmolada. But I like how the yellow was added.

I have had several black bikes, this could be my next bike and would be a bit of a change.

Super important. Along with matching accessories. There are some colors I don't like at all. I had fun picking out custom paint for my city bike. It looks awesome! My road bike is a decent color, but I considered some otheres, and the color was drawback enough for me not to be seriously interested.

There should be a company that offers custom wraps for bikes.
I am looking forward to having a colorful bike.

I buy my bikes used so don't get much of a choice of bike color (especially since I need a larger frame and they're not that common). I would much prefer a red or yellow bike, but 2 of the bikes I've ridden in the last few years were green. Green? Who buys a brand-new green bike? It's like buying a green car.
My last bike was black, so I just accessorized with red. And my latest is a Giant Escape in blue - my wife encouraged me to add green but I went back to red pedals and red tape.

I will only ride a Fuchsia bike..... just kidding, I am not really picky about bike color as my old road bike (1985 Centurion LeMans) that I have owned since new is beige, the road bike I purchased in the summer of 2014 is black with red lettering, and the road bike I am on now is white with black lettering and red highlights. Oh and my mountain bike is grey, and my son's mountain bike is green.

Mmmmnnnayyyah! Color is not important to me but FIT is the be-all and the end-all. I can always buy a can of spray paint or take a bicycle to a paint shop and re-colour (!) it. Fit is a totally different issue, however...
I do long distance unsupported touring - mainly in outback Australia. YMMV.

I've never bought a bike because I liked the color, but I've NOT bought a bike because I hated the color. My newest purchase (Sirrus) was a close call. It's a flat black with bright blue accent. I really don't care for flat black and the blue is a bit obnoxious. I wavered a bit, but the other choice is "Hyper Yellow" which is even worse (IMO). After a bit I decided to pull the trigger anyway. Flat black is ugly and shows every finger print.
My AWOL is an extra fine grained metal flake white. I never owned a white bike and wasn't sure I'd like it, but after owning one for a while it's become my favorite.

When I'm initially thinking about a new bike, colour is hugely important in that if I do not respond positively to the colour scheme of the bike on the screen, I'll continue on past to the next page or site. There are an awful lot of bikes to look at, and if I can't touch them, I have to narrow my choices down somehow -- colour is one way, the other is simply the way the frame is put together; if it looks visually 'balanced' to my eye.
In the shop, though, colour's importance drops. It's still a factor, but it is not a determining factor any longer, unless the choices narrow down to two or three bikes so similar in their feel and fit that it is simply a matter of which colour I like best.

The thing is, red is faster. Especially Italian ones. Enzo Ferrari understood this in it's entirety. That's why my Tommasini and De Rosa are both red.

How can we have a thread about bicycle color... with so few pictures? Here's my entire herd in two pictures. The yellow 360 is my vintage ride which lives in my man cave instead of the garage.

I don't care all that much about color, when you use a 61cm frame, you really can't be too picky. So I have a red Allez (red really is faster ), a white-and-purple Tarmac, and a black TriCross. Oh, and an orange 1975 Centurion Super LeMans (which doesn't get much use). My TriCross looks pretty cool, but it's the one I ride most at night, and I worry a little about visibility, but I don't think I'd ever get it repainted.

Speed, and colour are both over rated. Those 2 aspects are just for the hormone-laden youngsters and ONLY for them. In my time frame ya gotta look at pleasure and enjoyment - AND memories. Not just the PUMP!.
I speak as a 67+ y.o.who does unsupported long distance (2000+ km) touring. YMMV

The only color I was trying to get was Bianchi's Celeste in a economical steel frame. Got one a few years ago. normally it is function over form.

mmm rainbow sherbet... I've always thought that Orbea always made beautiful bikes.
I would not buy a pink bike, and I would not buy a Surly Straggler in its original sparklepony purple. Other than that I can't think of any colors I absolutely wouldn't buy. I'm OK with ugly, especially as a thief-deterrent. I'd be ok with covering a frame with duct tape, or giving it an ironically hideous rattle-can paint job.
My current bikes are a dark-dirty-blue crosscheck (I like how the black decals on dark blue are only minimally 'brandy'), and a sherbet-orange hardtail 29er, which I love!

We have two bikes in colors we don't like.
Wife's Raleigh city bike is an ugly gray, which seems to be the way it goes with nicer versions of cheap bikes - the cheap ones are colorful, the nicer models are white-silver-gunmetal-charcoal-black. But it was more important to her that it shifted nicer than the grip shifters on lesser models, and the dealership didn't treat her like crap.
The tandem is a dried-blood-scab red, but it was a screaming deal.

I like blues and greens on bikes. Orange ones look cool too, and perhaps white. If the bike is nice, just about any color will do...other than black. You have to like to look at what you're riding.
I ride a black bike. My least favorite color, but the deal on the bike was amazing so even though the color is my last choice I bit the bullet and am happy with the choice..other than the color

The first thing I look at is how well the bike fits me and the style in which I ride. Next up would be a nice enough bike to enjoy but not so nice that every tom, dick, and harry wants to steal it if I stop to buy an ice cream cone. The actual colour of a bike does not really matter to me, well no hot pink but every other colour is ok.
