Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't see many Williers out there. Looks nice! Let us know how it rides.

We had a ductless heat pump system put in this week. Monday-Wednesday our house was in complete upheaval. They left and the ******g things aren’t working properly, they keep shutting off before the room is at temperature in every zone simultaneously after running about 15 minutes. They came yesterday to “fix” it and they worked properly until the techs left, then started doing it again.

Considering how much we spent, I just want a working system. I’ve half a mind to tell them to pull it all out and put my house back to normal if it’s not resolved today. There will be two people here in about 30 mins

Up at 330 for AG's race. Nursing a Dan Campbell (Venti with two shots of espresso). As mentioned, I like my coffee stronk, but this is finally more bitter than yummy, though it's black and I'm not sure if he uses sugar and cream. It'll wake you up though.

I mean, that old Civic I talk about had 105hp and loooong gears for fuel economy. It's faster than that, and even with the turbo doesn't feel laggy. However, there was one time from a stoplight a QX50 ran off so hard even AG commented on it, and that has I think an extra 80hp. That of course is also the VWAG experience - the GTI had 200 vs the Mazdaspeed3 with 268 and the Focus ST with however much and so on. I don't know about modern turbos, but back when I had the GTI all the kids would pull another 50+ hp out of them with some mods. No idea if you're into that.

I won't stump for it of course, but it's not bad. Right now I'm salty about the coolant, even though it's at almost 35k miles of rental with Florida tags in California, so I assume it's had a long hard life for a rental.
I don’t really get why they underpowered the Passat and Tiguan so much. The same engine is in the Atlas 2.0 turbo and puts out something like 260 HP vs the 190 on the Tiguan. I’m not really one to hammer it or loon for a sporty drive, but some decent power isn’t too much to ask for.

Having said that, the fully equipped Tiguan is “only” 40k, which isn’t bad for a new vehicle with options like the digital dashboard, “premium” sound, heated and ventilated seats etc.

Wow, you got them to come out at 7:30 on a Saturday morning? Can’t say they’re not trying.

I hated April Fools until I realized that people aren't trying to fool others but are self-identifying which is good because now we have evidence.

Probably cheaper to put on a smaller turbo, smaller cooler, and then turn down the boost for a better CAFE number. It’s important to remember that the “same” engine isn’t necessarily really the same.

I got a ‘22 4Runner for just a bit more than that in August. Love all the new safety features it came standard with and all, but it seems to have less umph than my 2019 had. And I would truly love to get the climate control feature without having to upgrade to a Limited version.
