Where did you get the results from John?
Did AR win? I know my good friend was second but not much else from there.

Yeah, AR won. He went off the front with 3 or 4 laps to go. The official results aren't posted yet, but for the 1/2/3 race I just looked at the printed results after the race. BTW your good friend is a beast of a sprinter!

Kid cracks 2000. TOld a story here a while back, he and I were out on a training/social ride one Sunday afternoon couple years ago and it had to happen we both knew it, coming into the last few miles (his dad was riding with us as well) we lined up and had a go at each other and the little ****er had me by a wheel, he is truly an incredible talent. Worked on diet with him last year and I think it made a difference.

Driveway tonight, EDR and I, and another teammate, led out our sprinter as best we could. We only had three in the leadout and it started too early. I launched from about 650m, and didn't have that bright of a match left. I did manage to snap the rubber band about 5 riders back. Our guy got 4th though and didn't have to fight any crowds. It's really fun planning this stuff and racing for each other like this.

Driveway 3/4 last night (different race than WR). Tried a 4-man break about 20' in but caught with 3 laps to go. Training has been slacking lately but pleased with my result. 9th/61.

This finish is pretty interesting though. About 200m from the line, you enter a chicane with two really nasty left turns, and that takes almost 100m. Then it's a straight 100m to the line. There are very few changes in position after that first left. Our guy is new to the course, and he originally wanted me to lead him through the chicane, but I had to tell him that then I'd be the sprinter, because nobody comes around after the chicane. After the race, he was like "holy crap, you were right!" He got past one guy in the turns, but nothing could be done after them.
Here it is. Going CCW, you can see the chicane on the far left, and the finish line at the bottom. Very selective turns.

US Air Force Classic, Clarendon Cup. I've never finished this race, it's been too hard for me. I was in it to win it this morning, going well, and with 7 to go guy in front of me took a really poor line through a tricky corner, at it, and there was nothing I could do but hit him. Left ribs took a direct hit on the pavement and I lost some skin on my elbow. Not sure if ribs are bruised or broken, but sitting here a few hours later, they hurt. Doubtful for the Crystal Cup, which is tomorrow. I usually dont get too pissed at these things, it's part of racing, but this one has me really angry. I still havent finished Clarendon Cup. :-/

@MDcatV ribs can be the worst! I'll hope they're just bruised and you can be back to normal in a week!

MD, I hope you bounce back quickly from this one. Frustration is warranted, just stay above it.

White Plains 35/45
Since we had the same numbers, the whole 2 races in one thing was nullified. Got to race with YMCA, which was really nice.
Fast hard .5 mile crit with a couple of bumps. Last few laps were pretty off the chain, and I got too near a few danger scenarios on the the last lap to win. Took third, second 45+. All in all better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Tulsa Tough, Crybaby Hill crit, 40+ 3/4. 1st of 25.
Thunderstorms and heavy rain so only half the field showed up. The hill itself is kind of no big deal, it's steep but it's only about 20 pedal strokes. The more defining feature of the course is "crash corner", a 120 degree turn off a descent onto the finishing straight, with a couple of manhole covers right in the middle of the corner.
After the first couple of laps it was clear there was only one other guy who wasn't gasping at the top of the hill, and I was happy to see that he had no idea how to take the fast corner. Not to sound harsh, but literally everybody else was taking just the most terrible, timid lines through that corner. So I just waited for Mr. strong-can't-corner to attack, which he did with 2 to go. It was the two of us for a lap, then I left him behind on the fast corner and that was that. The field was 8 seconds back.
Plus it was the first time my wife has ever watched me race, so that was fun! She was very enthusiastic.
