Come back some time when you can't stay so long can stay longer. I think I have a bike or two that might fit. I could introduce you to my favorite routes, and who knows? We might even encounter Larry Sellerz in the wild.

Like he'd let that stop him!
Mind you, one broken spoke generally leads to a cascade of them, so he's probably in for an exciting couple of weeks.

So far, our (4) are doing their part and bringing home the grades. Our two oldest are members of their high school's NHS club and the two younger ones in elementary and middle school are both in G&T programs. I have no shame and can admit they definitely didn't get the brains and studious traits from me.
Oldest is a CPA and the other is getting his masters in structural engineering in December.

Mostly. I leapfrogged a rider day before yesterday, and we had tacos before I went to my luxurious motel and he to his campsite. Then I caught up to him yesterday and since we were both camping at the same place last night we rode together to the campsite. He bailed out this morning though, so I rode solo from Ralston to St. John, WA.
Is there any other kind of fun on a tour?
I'll be done riding Saturday, possibly tomorrow. 7 or 8 days

Junk mail advertising inserts work just as well.
At the top of Mt. Hamilton is a little post office. People pick up their mail there and toss the inserts in the trash bin. Inserts are just the right size to cover your chest for the first 2000’ descent. That first descent can be very chilly.

I think there have been several occasions on Tour de France telecasts I have watched where the papers have been handed to riders as they have reached the top of climbs in the Alps... or maybe also the mountains over in Spain.

The latest storm track has it turning north and passing over western Cuba. Whew! 24 hours ago I was pondering removing the solar panels from the roof.

Well that kicked my butt yesterday.
Got rained on really hard about 15 miles in and didn’t dry off until I stopped for a beer at mile 40. Then it was 3k of rollers for the next 25 miles.
The last climb was absolutely brutal, about a mile and a half of nothing less than 10% with a lot of 15%-20% switchbacks. I think I had to stop 4 or 5 times to keep my legs from cramping. Maybe tomorrow I’ll do a morning ride and try and get revenge.
Pretty, though!

Three. I need these to pull the needle back to an average of 4 after a couple 5's, 6's, and a complete failure.
