The knee is getting better. Now I just need to get my wind back. I wish you were down here too, you could school me again on my own trails!

66, is that first shot the infamous Pine Tree drop? It looks so small in that picture.

Glad to hear you're healing up.

That's where my boy Dan stacked it on an earlier visit also, right?

It looks so harmless, don't be fooled people.

Things look so tame in pics. It looks like you could roll that drop but there is no way. I was looking at it today and if you hit it with speed you can get 4 to 5 feet into the turn at the bottom.I can still hear Dan as the air left his body with a dead thud.... It was Girlscouts fault.

Here's another perspective. The problem is that you're carrying ludicrous speed into the drop, and you end up landing in the corner.
Rider is mtb_rob_nc from the monkey:

On a bad note, Chris got jacked up hard out at the kudzu farm today - still haven't heard anything for sure, but he went to the ER and suspects it's a collarbone.

here's a couple more but it's still not the same as being there.. I was doing some tweaking on my shock today and with the speed I was going, the drop and turn felt as good as I've ever done it. I just pinned that turn it was gooood.

Went out for a ride on the trails by my house...basically just to work out any bugs of the recently put together Rockhopper.

The ride was warm (10C) but the trails were slick with mud and ice. And after not having ridden a HT with only 80mm of travel for almost a year, it was a bit of a change. No pictures from during the ride but here are a few after shots:

Me:

Simon:

Rockhopper:

All three were spotless at the start of the ride...

We also found this log. We're gonna clear out some brush on the left and Girlscouts gonna hit it. I'll post pics when he does.

girlscout is the man! You should build a teeter-totter in the middle of it...make it a little more challenging for him!

I also rode today.

And will likely ride tomorrow, slightly more east of where the last two days have been.

First MTB ride ever today. Sullivan Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains using an old Rockhopper that I got for $100 off of the craigslist. Man, I had no idea that MTBs go so fast, super fun. Only one big fall.
