My Couer d'Acier on The Natchez Trace a couple of weeks ago. It is Chorus 11 with a compact crank, Cont GP 4000's in the 25mm size on Zipp 101's, Look pedals, Thompson Masterpiece seat post, and the saddle is a WTB. The stem and handlebar are Deda. I am looking to replace the nappy seat bag, and upgrade the engine. i want a Garmin 800 for my birthday, too. Then i think it will be time to start on a carbon bike, maybe.

Here's my submission. My photos aren't very good, but you get the picture.

When I was shopping for a new road bike in 2005 I was really set on the Aluminum/carbon Roubaix model. I was able to do long test rides on the Roubaix, all aluminum Allez and the steel Allez you see here. The steel Allez just felt better, more solid on the road and better handling than all others. I have swapped out numerous parts over the years to get it more race worthy. Over all I couldn't be happier.

This is just out of the box, and it's my first real road bike (I also have a Trek Soho S), so be kind in your suggestions on how to improve its setup, etc. I'm also taking it in to LBS to be tuned, so I'm sure they'll iron out whatever may be amiss.
May I be added, please?

Wow, that Colnago Mexico is one of the most beautiful bikes I've ever seen.
How much would something like that cost? Would love to own one being Mexican.
Also, around how much will that thing weight? I read that the Mexico's had lighter tubing.
Congrats!

1983 Viner Record Racing
I enjoyed this thread so much I registered and photographed my old Italian mistress.
The one owner, one rider princess was originally equipped with Campagnolo GranSport but upgraded in the 90's with a mix of Athena and Chorus including Syncro II downtube shifters.

Thanks for the nice comments!
To answer the questions:
The Sparrow and Mexico are original paint; Alpina and Super are restorations. Lightest bike in the bunch is the Alpina which comes out to about 19.5 lbs. I think the Mexico is around 20.5 - 21 lbs - sheds some more when a sewup wheelset with an Everest alloy freewheel is substituted.
Pricing is like anything else: it all depends on how much someone will pay But I suppose, for a fully-pantographed bike - going by current Ebay standards, with original paint - probably looking at around $1500-$1800. Not that I would ever sell it; that bike is the one I've had the longest and, subsequently, we've been through a lot together.
It was even stolen in London, missing for a month, and recovered. That was a first!

Anyone want to buy my Raleigh 2011 Grand Prix frameset sz 55 for cheap? It's kinda beat up so I'm only asking 150$ for it.
