Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

After c-spine surgery, my PT had me trace alphabets with an outstretched arm and a weight in my hand. I used to get crippling iliopsoas pain when I was running competitively. Happened almost every time I bumped the mileage too much for a few weeks.

There are good mountain bike trail close to AA, but I don’t know of any gravel type trails. Most gravel riders head out of the metroplex.

I’ll come up with some places, but they will mostly be on streets.

I’ve figured out a way to keep up with you.

We have a row of very old concrete fence posts in the back of our property. Mrs datlas wants to have a fence, so rather than pay someone a couple thousand bucks for something fancy, I am getting some 10 foot pressure treated 2x4’s to make the fence. I just started, but looks ok for a low budget job.

Question for the electrically competent.

On the outdoor grill island, there was a GFCI outlet on one end. I want to move it to inside the island, about 4 feet from where it is currently located. Turned off the breaker, cut the wire to shorten it, installed the GFIC outlet in the new spot, and turned the breaker back on. No power anywhere on the circuit.

Thinking bad breaker since the whole circuit is dead in which case it’s time to call an electrician. Any ideas before I do that ?

Did it have power prior to the relocation?

Yes.

The whole circuit that includes our bedroom is out, not just the new outlet.

I switched the GFCI outlet to a regular outlet, but no different. I tested the bare wires, and they are dead.

As long as all the same wires went into the same terminals, which is what a camera on your phone is for, then I'd look at the GFI. Make sure the buttons are properly pressed, and more importantly, make sure there isn't another one on the same circuit that may have tripped.

You edited too quickly. I now bet on another gfi in the same circuit.

I hate road riding in traffic in the rain. A little rain is ok off road and it's ok if the mtb gets dirty. It did start raining after I got home but not very much. Hoping it's dry for the Tuesday road ride.

Thats what I thought, but if it is I can’t find it. The line to the patio was added when we did the built in BBQ 15 years ago. The electrician that did it tapped into the master bedroom circuit since it’s on the other side of the exterior wall. It has no GFCI outlets, and the circuit includes all the outlets and the ceiling light. The master bath in on, and the one GFCI in that circuit is not tripped.

This picture is the BBQ island. The original outlet is on the right side by the white stool and trash can.

The new grill requires an electrical outlet, so I need to move it from the right side to the new box shown. The original GFCI is being replaced with a conventional outlet that will be protected by the relocated GFCI (wired from the load side of the GFCI). The Nomex coming out of the wall was tapped into the bedroom circuit when the island was built. I tested the Nomex coming out of the house, and no power.

Here, too, but that's ok because it doesn't get really cold in the low altitude where we usually ride.

We were talking about this last Tuesday and my friend mentioned how much he is loving the weather. A lot of days the high has been in the 50s which fine with us. Sometimes even the 40s.

Do you do the alphabet in cursive or in block letters?
