Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Epic Lancaster Covered Bridge ride is tomorrow. I am going to do a bonus loop so might stay on the podium this week.

I'll always think of him in a Blazers jersey, but since I'm in PHX, I guess we get two pics in Suns gear.

RIP Uncle Cliffy.

Update:
Cut one of the lawns and then rode. All of this done in the heat of the day. Inadvisable. Now i am going to take a nap.
Also, floors are getting the third coat of polyurethane today.

I just mowed all the lawns, and the main lawn twice.

I'm not painting them. If the painter drips, I'm sure he'll know what to do to prevent/correct. Not that ******g difficult.

High today was a chilly 95. 4 of us went over the hill where it was a frigid 85 and cruised through UCLA and then Beverly hills, the low rent part, and back up over near the Hollywood reservoir. It was a nice day but it's supposed to heat back up next week.

Not necessarily! Back in 1970, in the Can Am road racing series, the Chaparral 2J employed exhaust fans to create suction under the car to provide downforce. Configure your mower blades right, and you could do the same thing!

What I remember most from "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" is Walter Huston dancing a jig shouting, "Nuts, am I? Nuts?"

I've stopped thinking of the weather in terms of temperature, and now think in AQI - "The high today was 165, but the west wind kicked up and brought it down to a much more tolerable 21."
