Decided to see what all this 29er SS hype is all about. It's all true. Picked this up yesterday on craigs and took it for a nice ride in the foothills today... scared I won't ride my other bikes now!

Welcome to the 29er SS addiction, but be warned, there's no cure for it. I got my Kona about a month ago and I've been completely sucked into mountain biking, too much fun.

Off topic question...
Is there a thread specifically for 27'' fixie conversions?? Like the one only for mercier kilo owners...
If so can someone share the link please.

Kilo TT Deluxe. I built this up as a fair weather commuter. Relatively budget build for all new good quality parts. It came in the mid 700s.
Rubino Pros, Velomine Wiennman dp18s on formula, charge spoon saddle. Everything else is pretty identifiable.
I've already changed some things - new chainring and MKS touring pedals.

This is my first post! This is my new old stock SE Draft Lite in Candy Apple Red. I've changed quite a bit on the bike from what it came with. So far I've added a Brooks B17 saddle, Sette seat post, clips on pedals, chain tensioners, FSA stem, Easton Monkey Bar handlebar, Oury grips, and I'm running it single speed currently. Going to give the fixie a try soon, a bit timid about it for now though, LOL, I'm a girl. Not that it matters, but I just want to feel really comfy on the bike in SS first then I'll be switching it to fixie to see what it's like. My hubby also got one but his is a different color and he's chopped his bars down to bullhorns everything else is the same. Plan on doing some more to it as we go. I'm enjoying riding it every chance I get and my hubby takes his to work and rides everyday at lunch. Glad I found this forum!

You are either
A) Riding fixed with no foot retention and a rear brake with the cable routed to your seatpost
B) Riding freewheel with only one brake and it is attached to your seatpost
In either case you are riding with basically no reliable means to stop in an unexpected situation. Fix this.
