Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Close game. That's the best I've seen them look in a while. They could have won that game

I recall one race where my daughter was on the helm, and as we approached the finish the guy on the J80 behind us exclaimed that his skipper was about to be beat by a 13 year old girl.

After a while, the folks we enjoyed racing against faded out, and we didn’t want to be around the new people coming in for various reasons. We got the Bene to relax with friends and family (but I still have it rigged like a race boat&#128540. This was our Rocket. Hit 20 more than a few times.

Wow, that looks like fun! I bet it’s planing when the J/80s are still digging holes in the water.

Compete for a living?

Have you ever given the command to scuttle the ship? Bonus if it was while at sea.

No, but we once rescued five guys off a sailboat with a hole in it 140 miles out in the ocean and left it to its fate. I got a nice plaque and a little local ink on Cape Cod for it too.

It's funny, when I go with club #2 it's usually similar miles and hills but they never stop for food, rarely ever stop for bathroom breaks or water. Their pace is moderate and they always look out for stragglers, though.
Club #1 , which I have been with for 31 years, is a different story. The last couple years have been tough for me with the fast guys trying to drop everyone they can. I have only been with them a couple times this year and I miss some of the people but I don't miss redlining for the whole ride while bleeding out of my eyes trying to hang on. Maybe I've aged out.

That was my first PIC time in over two years.

Unsurprisingly, flying the cub is, well, like riding a bike. It's so simple.

I am extremely interested in how my landing of a 172 or similiar aircraft would be. Coming in at 60 knots would feel so slow, and I prolly would be tempted to come in wicked hot.

Super Bowl 12, 1978. I remember that because a friend made a large bet on Dallas.

Ever see the movie "North Dallas 40"? About the Cowboys in the 60s, my favorite football movie.

And yes, I am old but I remember stuff from long ago. Short term memory, not so much.

Me neither. They disappoint the pundits and their potential, though. They're listed as NFC contenders in every single postseason, despite having won what, two playoff games in getting on towards two decades?

I'm sure this summer we'll hear lots more about how they'll win the NFC East and be a championship favorite.

Super Monk is the best cup I've had, hands down. That said, Hermits Bold is very very good. I haven't had the Thanksgiving or the decaf, but you can't go wrong with the other two, either.

Super monk it is. I will also get the decaf so I can mix 50-50 when needed. Actually, the price isn't that bad. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the info.
