Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I found the same to be true of my LOOK. When I did the build at WrenchScience to check the weight it was 16.4oz but that bike came in at 17.5oz on digi scale.
wait..... Does that include a bike bag with tools etc... in it?

Well I'm about to loose approx 340g as I just bought a set of Reynolds Stratus Tubulars. My current wheels are Reynolds Alta's (check my for sale listing https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...98#post1969298 ) which are fairly light at 1590g and the tires are 220g +tubes also fairly light. The Stratus come in at 1210g and the tires 270g, so the new weight of the C'dale will be approx 16lbs 13oz.

Here is my old, 1986 Cdale in the middle of a repaint. I have two clear coats on it and will apply some more after decals. I haven't decided what to put int the panels as of yet, but I am leaning toward writing "Cannondale" in a font similar to the current Lemond script. I am open to suggestions!

Six13,

Nice bikes, is that a longer stem on your six13? Your wifes bike is hot (can I say that?)

120mm stem on the R1000 and Six13... standard issue. The Six13 is Very Cool... nice bike to ride. Can't wait until this NH winter is over!

Of course... there is too much dirt on the '99 F1000 mountain bike to add that photo too (wrong group), and many moons old by now.

My wish list this year is for a Cannondale Ironman 1 in clearcoat... nice looking bike, though I wish Cannondale made a TT specific frame vs. the tri geometry. Then again, all's I really want is the Zipp 404 wheels, and should just probably just go out an buy some of those.

Wifee is coming back after Kid 3. The bike has 60 miles on it. I can't wait until she gets going on it next summer.

Ride on.

Mark

We have the same bike except I swapped out the crankset for an Ultegra triple and my stem is a Bontrager. I did have a Ritchey WCS at one point but it was too long for me.

I don't have a picture, but I ride that same 2001 R600 CAAD 4 frameset. I bought the frame/fork NOS and built it up with full 105. I'm running velocity aeroheads and 105 hubs with wheelsmith XL14s/ wheelsmith DB14s on the rear drive side.

Man, that Austin-Healy 3000 looks pretty sweet! Is is still with the six cylinder, what's the deal Serotta?

I like the fork on the Cannondale, don't think I've seen one like that, nice, the Buick modification I guess..

Austin-Healey 3000 is a 1967. (2322 made after it before the company stopped making them.) It has a straight 6 cylinder, 2 side-draft SU's, 150 HP, 4-speed with overdrive on the top two, making it a 6-speed. I parked it 18 years ago because of a rattle in 1st gear. Been meaning to overhaul it ever since. Motor still turns over, but I'll bet most of the seals are gone. Wanna buy it, I'll begin checking on the shipping to Oregon!

Cannondale fork does truly have the Buick modification. If you look carefully you will also find my blood on the toptube, and a three inch crack under the headtube. A friend has recently completed an aluminium class, and is going to get the frame and fork as his shop project.

Had it out on Wednesday for a 30 mile test ride. I swear orange is faster than red.
