Thanks everyone. He was diagnosed with lymphoma back in December. The chemo decimated his bone marrow to the point it had to be stopped. Very low white cell count and he's FIV+. He's really not eating at all and is starting to show some odd behavior. Last night I found him laying down in his litter box but not actually using it. Then he "fake ate" from his bowl, lapping his tongue but not actually touching the food. He had a few nose bleeds a few weeks ago. There is a thought that the cancer has spread to his brain. No use doing an MRI since even if they found something there is nothing to be done.
Almost exactly 10 years ago I lost a cat to cancer. It still makes me sad when I think about it. The best I can do is try to think about the long life he enjoyed rather than the last 2-3 months.

Nice to see things are possible when the tree and grass pollen are not choking me to death.

The one place that I haven't like the BBQ is California. They make two significant mistakes there. They try to use oak for the smoking wood and they think BBQ has something to do with tri-tip. Wrong and wrong. Oak doesn't provide enough flavor. And tri-tip just gets dry and tough when you long cook it. It needs to be grilled instead. But no matter. Plenty of good 'cue everywhere else it seems.

Not before the Army Corps of Engineers built up the levees and changed the course of the Mississippi.
Well, for example- though admittedly I haven't seen it myself, and I could be wrong about the mitigation effect- but California and Japan have building codes for earthquakes- natural disasters that are quite common in those areas of the world, kind of like hurricanes are here.
I would expect a city that is over three hundred years old to have a better plan in place than, "Oh well, this always happens, we'll just rebuild exactly like we always do."
Anyway, sorry for the rant, this is just one of those issues for me. Carry on.

Welp, my radiator blew up friday on the way home from work. Should I post in LCF for now (even though I cheated and had the wife drive me to work today)?
This firmly cements my dearly departed 911 as the most reliable (and thus cheapest maintenance cost) car I've ever owned... 'cuz this forester certainly ain't.

My condolences. When I had to put my first cat to sleep (she had been sick for a while) I got home one night and, like you, found her in an unusual position and just knew it was time.

It's always interesting to see how cycling is covered on TV news.
Bicyclist injured after Knoxville hit-and-run | WATE 6 On Your Side
Interestingly I was not approached for an interview. She didn't even bother finding a serious cyclist.

I'm trying out a sneaky experiment - I started a Bob Ross video, knowing it would catch the attention of the kids. I'm going to see if one or both will be transfixed and/or put to sleep.

I fall asleep to those almost every night. Be careful- all three of you might nod off.
