Came home from the hotel last night, and we no longer have ductwork, and instead of heater registers, we have plastic taped over holes. Our old broken furnace sits in its same spot, but with flue and ducts gone, it looks forlorn.
Our HVAC guy wants to put the registers in different places - which, having no ducts anymore, we could. BUT he also wants to put the unit in the attic crawlspace, which makes sense from the point of view of the physics (centralize heat/cooling and the farthest registers are no longer the length of the house away), but the idea of a gas-fired furnace in the attic of our wood frame house makes both Mrs. GeneJockey and me freak out - "I'm gonna light a fire in your attic to keep you warm!"
And yet I understand this is all the rage. And I haven't heard of any problems with it. But "fire in the attic" is a nonstarter with us. We'll see where we end up.

Unfortunately there is no Chipotle or Cookout within a quarter mile of the Standin' on a Corner statues, just a Circle K, which for east coasters is like a 7-11 and a Church's Chicken which for east coasters is like a KFC. The Baptist Church should be perfectly recognizable to east coasters.

Nope.
You posted a picture of the inside of a restaurant, and asked if I knew it. I didn't know what it was, so I guessed Cracker Barrel. SHM.

In other local news, an Auburn player from Alpharetta just got injured. You might've seen him around town.

[QUOTE=LesterOfPuppets;21858014]Wow, both companies have expanded a bit since I've been back east I guess. When I left the east coast in 1980ish, there were no Circle Ks or Church's in NC, VA, or NJ that I know of.

It took a couple '52 degrees in the Living Room' mornings to convince Mrs. GeneJockey to leave the oil-filled radiator space heater on low overnight.

Circle K are all over the place in Charlotte, NC.
The only cook out I have ever enjoyed was in New Bern, NC. All others have been a let down.
