Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You assumed (possibly reasonable, given the site, but still an assumption) that he meant via bicycle.

You did not know if he meant climb the entire mountain, or just do a segment on it.

Riding to the cantina in Arivaca, AZ this morning with a small group. It's one of those up and down profiles that you can't quite roll up the hills. I'll definitely be the last one to the cantina but I bet I'll have a great ride.

For the third time since taking up cycling, I've had the flu. I'm getting better at restarting riding/exercise, but still want to ride too hard out of the chute. I do fine on the shorter intervals, it's the longer pulls where I lack discipline and end up quitting early. So today I'm going to really try and STAY in lower Z2 for a 3hr trainer session.

Gained 3 lbs of slop during my week on the couch, ack.

What are you going to do for your 3 hour trainer session? For some people that is torture. For me, it is business as usual

I liked that car. It spent a lot of time on the turnpike between Philadelphia and Syracuse, BITD. Including a few epic runs through the Poconos during snow storms.

And that was strange, because GM DIDN'T own Subaru.
