Forgive the guy that doesn't have any old-school experience, but was routing like that intentional? On the bikes that I've had, the cables have always popped out of the BB, through a guide and then back in and up to the FD - I can't imagine having the cable tensioned against the spindle.

My TT bike runs both cables and housings through the top tube, down the downtube, and has a bracket that holds both along the bottom of the BB away from the PF30.

You got me. He doesn't do much work on his bikes, he takes them to a shop so I'm guessing that's where it was installed.
But yeah, there is a guide on the front of the bb. And near as I can tell it the cable bends around the axel. Now that I think about it ,it might be the front mech s cable that cut it.

We actually did point this out to him after we were sure he was OK. We don't want to anger him as he is a track guy and an absolute Beast on a bike.

Also. My wahoo element is at it again. Reduced battery life. 0 accuracy with climbing #s. I'm so mad at it I think I'm going back to my Garmin 500
