I had a long hard ride yesterday and despite an early start, the last hour was VERY hot. I had to drive to NJ for some family obligations after the ride, and during the drive my legs would periodically have cramps/spasms. It almost made me wish the Saturn had an automatic transmission or at least cruise control.

Based off of measurements on the Ritchey I raised the seat about 6 mm on the c2 last night. Before I raised it my leg was pretty stretched doing the heel method, but I didn’t like the way my legs felt when I was riding it and I could tell it was slipping.
Anywho, took it out this morning, it was a nice ride and did a different route than usual. I avoided rough roads and bumps but when I got back to the house it still slipped about 3mm. I’ll need to pick up some carbon paste in the next week if I can. I’m thinking about asking my LBS to torque the clamp for me. I’m not convinced my torque wrench is accurate. Lily’s new AL domane is slipping as well.

As always don't eat the paste.

Got home and the assassin reminded "to mow the lawns and find your own supper because I ain't cooking."
Amazingly, no cramping today but it was relatively flat.

Maybe. First 2 bottles had GU Roctane but the next 4 were just water. I was adequately hydrated but barely. My body acclimates to heat reasonably well but this was my first hard ride this year in hot weather, so I did feel it.

I went through 10 bottles on Friday. That was with the first 50 being mostly in the shade. It’s been super hot lately.

If I've been doing a lot of climbing I usually don't cramp. It's the worst on a hot climbing ride when I haven't been climbing a lot.

I have removed and rebuilt at least a half dozen car engines, and lots of motorcycle engines, of course, they had carburetors. Remember those? I'm with you. It's like Latin to me.

A different time from diagnosing electric cars and cars with 30 on-board computers all chatting with each other.
I estimate conservatively I serviced 30,000 cars in my last 20 years on the job. Could have been closer to 40k.

My daughter picked up a rescue mutt (the black dog I posted a while back). He's now 9 months and 65 pounds. Anxious to see where he ends up. Part Great Pyronese.
My son's future roommate has two Great Danes that will reach close to 200 each. Curious to see how that works out as well.

Great ride. I fought the wind the whole way out, but by the turnaround we had resolved our differences and cooperated on the way back. I jumped 40 places, since my ride on Friday, on the segment that I alone ride.
