I have a buddy with the 7.7fx. He has his seatpost way up high like in the stock photo. I almost think he bought a size too small but his handlebars are way lower than the height of his seat. I think some people have long legs too.

My road bike has an 11cm drop. As long as your saddle and stem are set correctly for your body shape, it's no problem for many. It all depends on the length of your legs / hip position. Ensuring there is no hip sway and your back is straight (not hunched) many can have their bike set up in this aero position. My arms are longer than 11 centimeters so it's not as if I'm leaning down all the time. My Hybrid's drop is 7cm as I don't require such a position for my hybrid use.

Hello All,
Just joined the Forum and found the 7.7 thread. I have been riding a Trek 750 Multitrack since '95, but the lure of the 7.7 FX was too much to resist. Still have my mint 750, but with the purchase of the 7.7, I haven't been on the 750 since. The 7.7 is an absolute joy to ride. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a best of both worlds. So far the only mods to the 7.7 have been a computer, shoes, and pedals.

I agree. I hope this doesn't offend any new 2015 owners, because I'm sure it's a rockin' bike. But I was really disappointing after I just purchased my new 2014 and then found out Trek was ready to release the 2015. Then I saw the 2015 online, and was glad I had the 2014. 2015 specs are impressive, but I really like the looks of the 2014 much better.

Boring mod's... but I was bored! Added bar ends, pedals and shoes, a second cage and bottle. Went with Simano MO87 shoes and Shimano Click'R T-77 Pedals. I have to say all the hype about the Click'R pedals has some merit. I really like them.

On any brand of bike I get, I want to be able to see the manufacturer's name clearly on the bike from a bit of a distance, and that is one thing I don't like about the 2015 7.7 vs the 2014 7.7.
Also don't like the look of the crank on the 2015 7.7.

the 2015 is nice but not as nice as the 2014 imo. that solid crank is like a beacon for the eyes.

Those of you with 2014 model 7.7 FX's, what is your opinion of the saddle? It's listed as a Bontrager Evoke 1, but I can't find that seat listed anywhere to get a good description.

@1Treky thx for the heads up mate. i think the saddle is ok but it is on my upgrade list.

I think the 2015 7.7FX looks great. The subdued labelling are a huge plus. The only downside is the silver crankset on an otherwise black bike. I would almost have to upgrade just to change the color! Speaking of upgrade, the old aluminum framed 7.7FX had better components--R770 shifters, 105 drivetrain. Why can't Trek put those back? Hell, call it a 7.8FX if you have to.
