edit: oh you meant last year's Murad. I have no idea what happened. All I know is there was a crash, an ambulance, a neutralization, and hilarity ensued when people couldn't stand upright.

the crash last year involved a team mates r-sys getting caught in the skewer of another rider. I am not sure that was the cause of the crash though. last years crash wasnt right after being neutralized either. it was on the final lap near the end a few minutes before the final turn.
also the crash in the same race the year before was much better since it involved people blindly crashing into an ambulance parked right after the final turn.

maybe.
last season all kind of blended together in a big mass of suck.
I know the crash you're talking about, though - it happened near the end of the race on a straightaway right?

yeah and as far as i know that was the only crash in our race. i believe we were neutralized near the end of the second lap because of a crash at the last corner in the cat 5 race but we never came to a stop or anything.

Yeah that's it. BD, I thought you had a teammate hurt pretty badly in that...or maybe the races are blurring together for me now. It would be great if it was feasible to do a full enclosure, but I'm sure having the race go on part of River Rd doesn't make that so easy. The other roads get pretty narrow sometimes. But hey, at least they recently repaved over those huge potholes after turn 1.

^^ don't say anything that the organizers won't like. you will become BF persona non grata within seconds. you are now apparently an unappreciative cat 4 with entitlement issues.

I'd rather be racing at 8am than at the airport at 4:30am..... blech. But, I'd rather be in San Diego the rest of the week than in DC
Church Creek tomorrow and then see y'all at ToWC and good luck racing Sunday.

When I become a billionaire, I'm buying a huge plot of land somewhere in NoVA and building roads designated just for bike racing.
There will be epic climbs.
There will be harrowing descents.
There will be flats, rollers, and false flats.
There will be a velodrome.
I shall call it "Veloheaven"

Just kidding. And to all you guys getting your panties in a bunch over what we say, relax. We appreciate you working hard to put together and run races. But we also like to complain. It's what our generation does. We don't have wives and kids and some of us put in long hours all week, so we like a little sleep on the weekends. When we're all older, seasoned, experienced geniuses like you we'll be happy to wake up before 5 am to race.
And yeah, I have to wake up more than 3 hours before your race, because I cant race without eating at least couple hours before it. Or I get sick. And vomit on your finish line. Making me not want to sign up next year. I've competed in sports for 20 years now, and every single time, if I eat to close to my race I get sick. Didn't think of that, did you?

Currently wait listed so we will see what happens. Also might decided just to watch, got a ITT tomorrow morning so we will see how things feels after that. Either case I live right down the road off Route 28, so not to far of a drive. Actually might just bike to the event and uses that as my warm-up ha.
The course is pretty decent in my option, but there are some sketchy parts of road (pot holes and junk). I have not ridden it since about a month ago (changed one of my normal training routes) so it might have improved/been fixed.

RudeSiggy: congrats on making the break in your race and the podium result!
BD: good efforts, sorry the flats got you.
aicabsolut: sorry your day didnt turn out better.
everyone who came out, thanks. we hope you enjoyed yourselves. to the club members on this board, pat yourselves on the back.
I haven't been this tired since I don't know when, but I'm also wired and annoyed with my own race performance today, playing it over and over in my head, and each time I finish 10th.

Thanks buddy, as expected... great race out there and although it warmed up at least the weather held out today.
I don't know how a Cat 4 field let us get away with that break on that course but I buried myself to make it happen when I saw who else was there with me. I knew it could work. Now my legs are paying for it, haha.
Bedtime. I am BEAT. Been awake way too long.

I was supposed to be the wheel/follow vehicle for the cat 4 race, but when I went to start the vehicle (not mine) the battery was dead, so we moved the wheels into the cat 5 follow truck and switched, while I got another car to follow the cat 5 race (w/1 set of wheels in it). I had "race radio" so although I was following the C5 race I was listening to the officials talk about the C4 race. Funny, when you're break went, one of the motos misunderstood and thought he heard "crash" instead of "break".
