Those did not become a product for decades later.

Considering the number of low use Paramounts that turn up, perhaps Schwinn did not think about it.
Water consumption concepts have changed over the decades.
My nutritionist suggested when she learned at our first meeting that I rode bicycles and was once competitive, drink 16-20 oz before you ride, her guidance for during exercise really pointed to two bottles on the bike.
Suggested on hot days to weigh prior and post ride.

Also want to reiterate, these are great, I have two or three that have been in use for 5+ years with 0 issues.

@merziac and @mechanicmatt, thanks for the link. Yup, I thought that link was for the hose clamp, so I didn't check.

Something that the bikepacking crowd has come up with are "snack holes" that attach to your bar and stem. They also hold bottles or some even are big enough for 32 oz Nalgenes. Randi Jo fab is a cool small maker out of Oregon that has a classy looking version but tons of other brands make them, Revelate, Swift, and I think even Blackburn might be making one now. https://www.randijofab.com/collectio...ts/bartender-1
