Meh. LAJ’s inferno didn’t go as well as I would have liked today. I didn’t “fail” but the numbers I set for myself I didn’t hit. I was in the range though that I was supposed to be in.
5x5s kicked my ass yesterday. Anyways, I added the extra 40/20 set. That actually took a long time for me to do. Building workouts in Garmin is easy, adding a set to an existing workout, not easy.
I had to cut 20 mins off the tempo today. Ran out
of time. Interestingly enough, the tempo with the burst felt the best today.

You guys ought to look into old man racing like I did with old man softball, where the participants are in it mostly just for fun and camaraderie, and most aren't doing dumb stuff like sliding into base or running into an outfield wall. Once you hit your mid 60s the testosterone has declined enough that your brain starts working better making wiser choices.

Tax preparation tomorrow. I feel poorer already. Wonder if climbing wheels would make it funner.

EDIT: When I race P/1/2 now, I view it as training, and stay far back enough to avoid the business end. Don't have the nerves for that any more. Plus I'm not good enough to make a big impact up there anyway.

But we do have two levels: the A level is new guys coming in between 60 to 65 years old. Some of them are quite good. The B level is guys in their 70s and 80s, along with a few younger washouts from the A level.

I get it, our league wouldn't work either if we had ex pro ballplayers coming in.
But we do have two levels: the A level is new guys coming in between 60 to 65 years old. Some of them are quite good. The B level is guys in their 70s and 80s, along with a few younger washouts from the A level.

In my case, Brevets are still an enjoyable thing, though I still think 600k will still be my limit. Popping off 130 miles at over 20 mph average, is not bad for March, so getting faster is still on my plate.
