Lovely morning out on the new MTB, in and out of a fog bank.
The new bike infatuation remains strong. Unless I'm racing, I don't see a ton of appeal in being out on the road bike right now. I can train indoors. When I head outside, I just wanna ride my new MTB. It's soooo sick.

I have previously mentioned my quest to have a 1989 Schwinn Circuit in my size (23"), and all the rigmarole I've gone through to create one, since I could never find one for sale for a non-ridiculous price. So, the week after I FINALLY haul two frames, a fork, and a headset to the South Bay for Dale Saso to swap the headset lower cup and upper race, and cut down and thread the fork to fit, somebody lists a 1989 Circuit on Ebay in my size, at a price I could have swallowed, if I hadn't already spend so much on frames and forks. Ah, well. C'est la vie.

Bad news came true. Trek, like most bike shops are struggling right now to move bikes, so trek just cut the staff including my best friend. Pretty bummed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the shop doesn’t close in a year or 2. He made the shop what it was, organized rides and made it a place where cyclist could hang out. It was also one of the most successful trek stores in Va, so it’s kinda of frustrating. Definitely bummed right now.

fun little two-part Rondo here. Love the unison guitar and piano lines in the "Part A"

The Dodge is off the Injured Reserve list!! It was the water pump. I guess 10 years is a long time for a gasket.
Now I just have to take the rental back to the airport, and get a Lyft home. I'll deal with that tomorrow morning.

In west coast slightly more epic sport news, men's foot division winner of the ITI 1000! Gavan Hennigan has emerged victorious in the Iditarod Trail Invitational 1000, claiming the title of Men’s Foot Champion. His journey across the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness culminated in Nome after 24 days, 18 hours, and 9 minutes of relentless effort, battling against nature's harshest conditions.

My earlier posts on wearable technology were not in a vacuum. Earlier this week I got a watch with which I can track my walking (and theoretically cycling) activities.
It says today I took 5500 steps. I don't really know how that is tallied. Probably not very accurately.

I just hope Utah State gets a dub. At least I'll have a perfect first round in the Midwest
