47 miles
on the SRT today. Wife on her Raleigh Detour and I on my Trek 7000. Great weather. Crowded trail until late in the day and a lot of deer above Valley Forge. A good meal at Fitzwater Station to wrap the day up.

Finally started bike commuting. My bike, which still remains nameless but I might call it Bertha because the thing is HEAVY when I have anything in those panniers. Heavy isn't an issue for my short commute, it's living on the second floor that sucks.
I commuted today and yesterday. It's fun and is so short it almost can't be called exercise. The commute there is 1.4 miles all on a hardly noticeable downgrade. However, coming home I feel it badly...yes, I'm THAT out of shape.

cc rider, I thought you were injured.
You are putting long miles on your hybrid week in and week out, while the rest of us are on-line debating frame materials and tire qualities. Good for you. Keep on keeping it real. You rock!
Glad you're feeling better.

The usual... 40 km of commuting.
It is / was really hot and windy and I topped out at 35 kmh going into the wind today.
Thankfully... we were not in the mood to be booking it home and had a nice leisurely ride.

I was injured, and still am. But the muscles for cycling were not affected. Actually feels better when I'm spinning.
I originally wanted to do a modified 75 miler, but I took it one rest stop at a time to gauge how my leg felt. Everything came together and I ended up with a century ride.

131 km today on an out and back to the Ukraianian Heritage Village for the third annual Tour de Perogy where we enjoyed the sights, interactive displays, and a good amount of food ranging from perogies to bison to elk to delicious desserts.
Thew wind was vicious which was awesome on the ride out... we set a new speed record and I topped out the bike at 60 kmh / 38mph on a relatively flat section and was hitting speeds of 50-55 with wanton abandon.
The ride home was arduous as that same wind was in our face the entire way save for a 10 km stretch and about 20 km out my left leg quit on me.

My hybrid stayed in the barn all weekend...
My mountain bike took me on a 22.2 mile excursion on the NYS Erie Canal trail with my wonderful girlfriend, yesterday. Of course...no pictures because she always forgets her camera, and my DSLR is so not going on a bike trip. I did buy a under-seat bag for my Sirrus today, $7 Bell from wal-mart. Half the price and twice the size of anything the bike shop had...
Tomorrow my front fender is getting installed on the Sirrus, and I will go out for 10-15 miles. I should get my new front derailleur tomorrow as well, and install that and rear fender tues, calling for rain so then I might load up some 9mm ammo...Gotta get my shooting hobby back on track, as well.

Pretty much... it was probably all the walking and standing I should not have been doing today and the fact I missed physio on Friday.
My right leg is burning just a little from having to do double duty and even with the low gears I was running, hill climbs into the wind on one leg are freaking hard.
I was really grateful for my friend who fell back and really did a good job of pulling me along so I could maintain a reasonable pace.
I had to stop and do some stretches and decompression exercises which helped for the last stretch home and will be doing more tonight.

Well since I bought my new bike last week it's only taken me 20 miles, with the longest ride being 7 miles. But I'm workin on it and that's what really matters most!
I really love reading all your stories and descriptions! Terrific inspiration.

In Limerick Community Park (Limerick, PA) and the surrounding roads. The one exciting moment was on a loop around the park. A kid coming towards me on a BMX bike decided to take a shortcut off the trail.... into a chain hanging between two posts. He flipped over the chain and the handlebars. The clotheslining he received knocked the wind out of him and upset him, but he seemed to be otherwise OK. I offered his mom some antibacterial wipes but she gave them back since he seemed uninjured.

I started out the day by taking my hybrid on the rapid transit into Vancouver to watch the Cyclocross races at Vanier Park. Then I rode 70 kilometres home. Had glorious sunshine for the entire trip.
