I moved here about 12 years ago from Oregon, because someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The deal with my wife was that if she didn't like it we would move back to Oregon. As of today, she doesn't want to move back.
What we found after moving here is that Fargo is a gem of a small (250K people in the metro area) city. We can walk to the downtown core in 10 minutes. Lots of nice local places: even one that serves Tater Tot casserole made with cream of mushroom soup and bison burger (I'll pass on that). Several decent micro-breweries. Vibrant arts and crafts scene, as well as a great bicycling community.
April through November are normally beautiful. Very few days in the summer that are over 90F. And believe it or not, once you get used to it 20F is fairly pleasant, as long as the wind isn't ripping down from Manitoba. Spring floods, students from three universities, and mosquitos in the summer are the main detractions.
Winter is Fat Bike season, or XC skiing on groomed trails that are 1/2 a mile or less from my house, and if I didn't have this <expletive deleted> broken femur I would be out riding or skiing. Cleared to go as of February 1, but I plan on taking a short gentle ride tomorrow or Monday.
Less than 10 minutes ride from our house and we are out in the countryside. Many of the roads are just beautiful. Sunflowers and Canola are truly stunning when they are in bloom. We have seen things like a pair of fox kits playing when we go out on the tandem. You have your choice of pavement or gravel as well. And once you are out of town an obnoxious or dangerous driver is a rare event.
Cost of living is moderately low. When we moved here we bought a nice house with zero down and our mortgage is under $500 a month. There is a fair bit of a tech industry here and I have a great job with people who make the work day enjoyable, and projects that make you feel that you are contributing to making the world a better place, not just putting money in your pockets. And I can commute by bike year round and the commute is just a couple miles, so an easy bike ride. I can come home for lunch if I want to.
By the way, our SIL was stationed near Memphis for 4 years and we did visit them there. Didn't see anything that made us say "I would enjoy living here", which is rare for us. We have considered four places to retire. Whidbey Island WA, where SIL is currently stationed and where he will retire when he doesn't pull orders that keep him there, Vancouver WA to be near our other daughter, North Carolina above 2500 feet elevation, and Fargo.

All of our cool cars have been white, except for one. I love a white/black car (Honda Accords and Saturns excepted).

Canyon is definitely on the list to look at. Also thinking about a Cervelo S5 or Soloist, and of course a newer Dogma. I want the Campy EPS in whatever I get. I’m not getting a new bike any time soon though (unless I find a frame and slowly start putting one together).
Weirdly, same. I don’t know how or why that happened, but my most fun cars have been white, including my current one.

The frame colour is similar to that of Jonesey's Fuji IIRC

I want to see a picture of the movistar. I was asking if it was a canyon. I know the movistar team has been using canyons for a couple of years now.

I saw a sweet white/black Peugeot van the other day. Don't get to see newish Peugeots on this side of the pond much, this one is registered in Mexico. Wonder if there are dealerships down there...
