Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On the Colonial Parkway today outside of Yorktown Va. An empty road for a moment. The traffic was surprisingly light.

Recently paved section of Cienega Rd. A couple of miles south of Hollister. I’ve never thought about stopping here before cause it’s at the end of a nice descent and I’m carrying some good speed.

Eucalyptus -- those things are evil. I refuse to ride anywhere near them on a windy day.

Who can argue?

Sometimes they split

Sometimes they take out a neighbor

Or three

Then there's the rootball.

I took my bike along with me on a work trip to my home town area. Having the Atlantic ocean back in my nose took away a 'funk' that has been bringing me down for too long.
