Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Guess what happened on today’s ride and what I just spent the past hour plus trying to fix?

Man, your levers are really bad. Merlin has 6800 levers for $177 and R8000 for $219. It's time, datlas. It's time.

I'm almost crash replaced the R3SL but Cervelo customer service basically told me not to. The R3SL is mechanical now with the 50mm Powertap psimets. I love it. Can't beat this sticker.

That is awesome. I was sold on my Cayo because AG2R rode that same bike in Paris-Roubaix, simply because the Izalco Max wouldn't accept 28's. A sticker like that with even just one win, would be just fine.

I know, I know. But 6800 is 11 speed and everything I have is 10 speed.

I do plan to upgrade to something new/better in next 1-2 years. Likely wireless Di2 if that comes out, or Etap AXS if not.

The Shimano issue? Yes, Shimano has issues as well, but I'd rather solve that with Shimano 11-speed or especially Di2 than the Sram wireless. I have friends who've crashed because of it, and the missed/ lagged shifts are well-documented. It seems like a very expensive way to solve a cable-eating issue that could also be solved other, more reliable ways. I wouldn't want one kind of issue for another, at high financial cost.

No, the "Triathlon group training ride" query from last page. I even @'d you. Let me know if you have any thoughts, ok to send via PM if you prefer.

The trouble is, there may not be much of a small business pool left for people to spend their money at . I bought some gift cards for two of our local restaurants. I hope they stay afloat.

You gotta keep your hands on the wheel, but I think it handles well, especially if you keep weight aft.
