Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Consistency doesn't seem to be the norm. I wonder if it is because only things that are reported are closely looked at, due to the volume of posts?

Fortunately, Presta valves operate on pressure differential to open and close, so all you have to do is exceed the pressure inside the valve body to open it for intake and as soon as the inflo pressure drops, the valve closes from the internal pressure.

The Rotor 3D is okay, the 3D+ is better, but both weigh more than the Lightning. I may be buying a set of Q-rings real soon to try out however.

Good, because we can't catch that stuff all the time, unless the community cooperates, given the post volume in here.

If I got a free set of 3K wheels and a power equipped crankset I might just quit my day job and focus on what is right with my life. Given the general panic resulting from the mirror image of the new TT helmet, I'd say you should start hiding assets from the tax man before it gets out of control.

I was out house-hunting today and saw two Rubicon/Orbea/Land Rover team vehicles parked back in a little not-too-fancy neighborhood in Vancouver. Team's based in Portland but someone affiliated with the team must be a Vancouverite.

It was a bit of a shocker to be looking at some $60,000 rundown fixer-upper houses (EXTREMELY cheap in this market) and see those two Land Rovers a couple blocks up the road.

(pic not from today, of course, I dunno why I didn't snap a pic - had my cam with me...)

You don't have to worry about it. If you claim to make 20 K a year but own a Mercedes, a Ducati, and are seen about town at expensive restaurants picking up large tabs you should worry.

Had a great ride today, very windy but still a great ride. Did the ride with a buddy of mine. We did the same route that I rode last Saturday with the local bike club. Our riding time 12 minutes slower than last weekend but my average wattage was up by 7 watts. The wind really made it tough.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/79898054

56.75 miles, 4,393 ft climbing, 2,252 kj's.

That put me at 221.6 miles for the week, 572.1 for the month of April

Maybe the tail end of the weather front that came through here yesterday? It was too cold and blustery for much enjoyment then. Not too bad this afternoon and the wind had mostly died out by this evening.

These guys do some nice work, I like this one:

Mangerschlung – (adjective; from old Dutch) 1. the sound of blowing a snot rocket; 2. describing the residue left from mucus, usually found on gloves, shorts, shoes.

The last time I tried while in motion, part of it ended up on the side of my face. I don't think I've left any on my shoes, though.

I didn't have a wind excuse; I just took a bad angle. Maybe I should get some rollers to practice on.
