Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It happened again.

Fun Fact: I weigh nearly what this guy does, and stand a lot when I climb. There's probably other similarities.

I aerated a portion of the northwest lawn today. I was surprised by how hard-packed the clay was in spots. I already wore a lot of paint off the tubing.

Another fun fact. Of the three currently active Doug's (good, bad, average), all of them have lived in Pennsylvania. 2 of the 3 were smart enough to GTFO.

I noted that one Doug did not answer a meaningful question in post #523, which was bad.

It’s no biggie.

There was nothing I couldn’t do on my old steel bikes except tapping threads and straightening frames. On this plastic thing, I’m a little spooked by BB installation and it’s probably not worth buying the drift sets for the various bearings, but otherwise I see no issues. I’d probably also take it in to have the derailleur hanger aligned.

Had a light meeting day and planned on a late morning ride. Threw my back out and now I’m laying on the floor with a heating pad. Most likely no ride today
