Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I always use a torque wrench. I was thinking more about my fat ass bearing down on the bars, and then snap! I have 20 lbs on MVdP, so if he can do it, imagine what I can do.

Along those lines, why do I have 5 guitars when I can barely play the first one.

Still no coupler, or email saying it has shipped or really any response from Ritchey at all. Maybe it’s a holiday.

Or I could just ride what I have and stop obsessing over bikes I don't.
That's crazy talk.

I you snap your bar, it's a hint that you need to work on your core.

True, it won't tell me where I am, but I can use it to determine my heart rate. Takes both hands, though. And about a minute, to be accurate.

It's a bummer that all of the ceramic coated rims are going bye bye.

Also, you can use your analog watch as a compass. I remember having to do that during an orienteering course BITD.

I'm gonna have to get you a CAT6 Race Squad jersey.

My Intervals.icu eFTP has been withering away over the winter, so I decided to try and bump it back up with a solid 3 min effort on the ride today. I thought that I had an okay hill for it, but it flattened out about 2 minutes in and I just couldn't stay on top of the pedals enough to maintain my target. Oh well - I did end up bumping my eFTP anyway, but I not quite as much as I'd been shooting for. I need to think of a better 3 min hill, but the sad thing is that I think of one within 35 miles or so. ******' flatlander.

What was the target to hit your preferred eFTP? I'm curious, because I'm not 100% certain what intervals does to estimate.

Nah! When you look at the torque figures of these stupidly strong guys, you'll realize that they don't have enough body weight to put the necessary torque to the pedals - what they're doing is leveraging against their bars, typically pulling up forcefully whilst slam-dancing on the pedals.
