well, its basically like having a back pac cooler.
those red traditional coolers are bulky and hard to carry on a bike unless you got a rack or trailer

The T-Level backpacks have that, and are very nice looking in my opinion, but they are incredibly hard to find especially since its a korean brand. all stores ive looked at their t-level bags are sold out.

there are these deuter bags.....but i dont like the looks of them.

is anyone else aware of bike specific bags with air vents in the back to keep your back cool and sweat free?

my chief complaint with the vented backpacks it that the added bulk doesn't seem to add up to a cooler back just a faster drying one. not to mention that the added bulk just annoys me

if you have, how are they at keeping your back dry? i ask cuz im looking for a backpack that keeps your back relatively dry while riding in the heat....obviously the deuter has air vent system....T-level does too.....i just heard the pads on the back of this bag extend out a bit and keep your back off the back of the bag to allow some air flow, but was wondering if that was true or not.

(far left one) osprey stratos 34. It has an "airspace" on the back keeping me crystal cool. Great bag for under $120.

i was close to getting a stratos, but i was concerned about waterproofness and weight shifting forward and hitting my head while in the drops or going downhill. the mahoubar stays and the search for a rack is on.

Bikes: A Homer Hilsen and a bunch of pretty much worthless crap

I got a messenger bag for the easy-access factor, but if I'm pretty sure I'd rather have the Timbuk2 Hemlock backpack. Looks like a great pack and has nice access without taking it off

glad someone bumped it because after today's 16 mile commute with a full backpack that started to dig into my shoulder I'm looking for something that will give me a bit more comfort on this commute.

I like the MW Rambler but after reading the reviews of the Timbuk2 Hemlock that looks like a 2 horse race. I read that most of the owners haul things short distances would like to hear what these packs feel like on longer rides. Over 10miles

I've got a MW Vandal and I love it. I ride with it, travel with it, use it for just about everything.

240 is expensive, but I got my on an employee pricing at the shop I work at, so I didn't pay nearly that.

Got any friends who work at shops?

Bikes: fixed gear recumbent trike

got my MW on sale, it was still expensive, but i wear it many hours a day with little to a lot of load. works great, less filling. survived a few crashes too.. its pretty tear resistant.

dude. I am going to GET that bag, if it's the last thing I do. I'm going to sell my Ivan for it. My options are either wait it out until my girlfriends sisters friend comes back from Korea and I'll just get her to buy it directly from Liful. that or look around sffixed and try and buy it used. I saw some kid with it on the bus going to campus and it looked pretty freaking nice.

I'm either getting an ortlieb or a MW Rambler for my next bag. <3 the wig, i got a dakine with resevoir for the summer but I seem to not be using it anymore and sporting the wig almost all the time. But I want something completely waterproof and able to carry a bit bigger load. I can only haul 1 30pack in the Wig :/

I've had my vandal for a few months now. I use it every day and I gotta say, it's expensive, but I don't regret buying it at all, worth every penny.

With that said, i've never really liked Timbuk2 stuff, but that Hemlock looks like a nice pack. The lack of a sternum strap would be a deal breaker though. For me, that strap does more than just keep the pack from swinging around, it pulls the straps more on my chest than my arms when it's cinched down for more comfort while stretched out on the bike.

I like the Ergon BC3 I got (especially at $80 from competitive cyclist on sale). I wish it held more than the 27L or whatever it holds, but I like the waist strap and the way it moves with me. Not bad, but not great when it comes to ventilation.

One I did for an online friend named Candice a little while back.
What's a suspension harness? Are you talking about the adjusting straps at the top of the shoulder straps? (like the one's the Vandal has?)

Edit: shown in this pic
