So being a complete newbie (and preparing for being flamed) - where in London can I pick up any 2nd hand single speed gear (i.e. wheelsets, cranks etc.)
Condor's is my LBS - but they're hradly outfitters for the economic cyclist.

Pretty much limited to Condor, BrixtonCycles. BikeFix on Lamb's Conduit can sometimes have parts. Other than that it's online shopping.

For online stuff, On-one.co.uk have very cheap track hubs (can't vouch for the hub, company is great), 30 quid for a fixed/fixed 120mm rear hub. Hubjub.co.uk have a lot of tracky bits.

Don't bother with Recycling down at the Elephant. They used to be really good; and cheap, but are now quite the opposite. we recently found a friends stolen Fuji for sale there for £50 more than the list price.
