Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i hereby declare that the topic of this thread is now, Sadaam Hussein's imminent execution, and the repercussions (if any) on the west African diamond trade.

The only reason Sadaam Hussein is being executed is he called George Bush Senior a hipster in 1992.

if we weren't all hipsters..... then all these indie bike messenger shops wouldn't be in business anymore. places like velospace, bikeforums and fgg wouldn't be making money off of us because they wouldn't have any businesses advertising with them. none of these kids here would dream about become a messenger like they normally do, because it wouldn't be a "cool" job and frame builders like IRO and SOMA wouldn't have even bothered to mass producing track frames.

face it... there are hipsters because at some point you wanted to look cool on your bike....it all paid off...now you have a fleet of hipsters to idolize you.

just shut up and ride.

That just made him mad, it was in 1993 when he called him a Hipseter that pushed the button, **** hit the fan after that.

I think "Just shut up and ride" may spark some slightly more intelligent conversation. Which, come to think of it, would kill the forum.

Kill the forum, yeah that will happen when everyone stops using the "there is a hole in my beer" line at bars.
