So I picked up a brand new Felt F3c frame on Ebay and built it up this week. Haven't taken it for a ride yet because of the weather but it fits well when riding on the rollers. This is an upgrade to my 2005 Trek 5000 that was a little big for me. Anyways here are the specs and some pics.

Did you habe all those parts on hand? are you still going to build an RS2?

I'd be motivated too for that bike! I love the little "dorsal fin" adds a nice touch. One of the better looking CF bikes I've seen recently, or in a long time. hawt.

I swapped all parts from my Trek. I decided against the RS2 due to the weird sizing in the 52cm frame. I like my standard geometry.

Nice bike. Very nice! Exceedingly nice.

I'd say you went a little overboard on the components - there is no need for Record Derailleurs (or brakes for that matter)!!! Total waste of good money!

...btw, this is coming from an owner of a Record equipped bike that I put together myself.

Edit: just noticed you have 2006, did you get a $$ break?

I bought all Record components at a really great price who's previous owner "had" to upgrade to 2007 QS and UT Crank. I initially wanted Chorus but I couldn't pass the offer.

Its probably some result of FEA CAD stuff. BMX and Park/mountain bikes have had similar shapes to increase stiffness. Felt makes some great frames for affordable prices.

The wheelset consists of 20/24h 30mm rims with Niobium 30 front and DT RR1.2 rear. 240s hubs and WS XE14 spokes. Comes in a little under 1600g.

The dorsal fin provides perfect butt-cheek seperation when standing over.

+1 - my first thoughts as well. Actually when I first saw I thought, "that looks like it would be a pretty stiff frame."

Usually stuff like that is the result of some young engineer sitting in front of a juiced up computer with a marketing guy looking over his shoulder....usually not necessary, but "looks cool" to their market demographic.

Yes, very nice indeed! I like those red "touches" of seatpost collar and seatstay up the rear brake. Gives a eye-catching look to the otherwise black and white bike. Congrats!!!

Awesome ride. I like the Salsa seat clamp. Accents the bike nicely. Here's a pic of mine that I built up last winter.
