Boston, Where did you ride today?
I auditioned with a group from Sherborn down to Diamond Hill, RI.
Beautiful day, pushed the hills, averaged about 18 mph, 39 miles, averaged 181 kJ according to my power tap.

I didn't do much riding on Sunday due to other commitments -- just an 8 miler to Harris for some spare halogen bulbs and back, then another quick jaunt up to the local Star Market for paper towels, OJ and other pantry items.
Saturday, I rode the touring bike out to Somerville to help a friend move and wound up riding from their apartment to Everett to help put some stuff in storage, then down to Cambridge to help load in the new apartment. Finished up around 2:30 and then took an easy ride up to Bedford to shop for some spring vegetables and farm fresh eggs. Headed home, napped, then took the fixie out for a spin to get some ice cream in Inman Square. Came back home, made dinner, then took the brevet bike out to Fenway to do a bit of nightclubbing with friends. Nice day out on the bike and a good excuse to use every steed in the stable -- wound up putting on something like 50+ miles, though I have no idea what my average speed was

Dover Sherborn
37.4 miles, 18 mph, 207 avg. watts through DS with a little Westwood and Medfield. Great pavement, hills and traffic free roads. 324 more miles to reach 1000 miles this month!

Hey, guys, didn't see this thread before. NIce idea, SP.
Today, I rode a brief 15 miler out Concord Ave and back, to test my injured-now-recovering knee on real hills for the first time since I reinjured it a few weeks ago. Feels sound. Roughly 16 mph, 'cause I was taking it gently on the knee. I did not do the steepest part of Concord Ave., which is where I re-injured myself this month.
Yesterday, about 18 miles out and back on the Minuteman bike path through Arlington, Lexington and Bedford, finishing with a run up Park Ave. to test the knee on a hill. I was looking for a flat, time-trial stretch of road on the MUP, but forgot about all the frustrating cross-roads that constantly slow you down. However, TT-style riding in a slightly larger gear seems good for my knee (once it's over the worst of the chondromalacia symptoms and re-aligned properly via my PT exercises). Hence the good ride today. SP, I've been following your advice to build back up slowly. Of course, everyone knows that, but I tend not to, usually. So far, so good.

Not exactly Boston, but Thursday I put on 20mi's at about 18.3mph through Worcester/Grafton/Sutton/Millbury and back. Friday I did 28mi's at about 18mph around Wachusett Res then into Shrewsbury/Worcester/Boylston. Hit my new top speed of 41mph (I'm still a relative newbie). I took today off but plan on joining my first group ride tomorrow. Deciding between a group ride for beginners sponsored by Landry's and a group of older guys who do what they call Easy C Rides. I have a feeling I'm more agressive than either group but it is my forst group ride so I have lots to learn.

Today's my birthday, so I decided to go for a nice easy spin on a familar route (through Brookline, Newton, and Weston). As it turned out, I beat my best average speed for that route, proving once again how poorly I pace myself.
23.66 miles in 1:18, averaging 18.2 mph.
Tomorrow I'm racing at Wells, and hopefully Monday I'll be able to log another ride to take in the nice weather.

PRs
Nice PRs you guys!
BR: don't listen to these guys, listen to your knee and mend. I'm a grinder and have been advised to increase my average cadence from 74 ish to 80+. I do feel my knees when I try to ride fast.
I rode 7.7 mile laps. 22:27, 23:24, 23:55 and 22:53

Nice idea SP!
I had my son yesterday and today so didnt do any riding - was canoeing and watching him ride yesterday - he's 4 and watching him ride today. When I say watching him I mean he rides with his trainers and I walk/run alongside.
I have a road race this Thursday and a Roller Blade Camp on Sat so I wont be riding this week but I did go out on Friday on my BA for the first since getting it home. Rode around the Charles for about 15 miles. Dont know how fast and exactly how long because of probs with my Forerunner 305 but it was a great ride. Bummer I have to wait for a week to ride again!

Well, no ride today. My wife's birthday, and she's not a cyclist (working on that), but we did take advantage of the weather to paddle on the Concord River for a
couple hours -- very nice indeed.
I couldn't ride yesterday either. My knees are driving me crazy, not healing up as fast as they might. (Don't worry, SP, I'm being kind to them.)
[Warning: Off-topic rant follows...] I'm considering scrapping all my training goals for the spring (since we're halfway through and I've been either too busy or too injured to come close to them) and changing my whole approach to riding for a while, just so it's not so frustrating babying my knees. Just trying to focus on how far I've gone and totally ignore speed for a month -- or maybe indefinitely. A life of Long, Steady Distance, of zone 2-3 riding: That would be very challenging for me (extremely), but the legs are clearly asking for a change... We'll see how they heal as I go forward.

Did a nice out and back route from my apt in Watertown to a house in Marlborough (marlboro? the spelling alone ticks me off) that my wife likes. Besides lacking a garage, it's ~24 miles each way, and did it on my fixed in an hour and fifteen each way. This bodes reasonably well for my commute to work (not far from the current apt) as I was pretty fried with the wind and the running race I did yesterday, so was lagging a fair bit on the way home.

What a great riding weekend! I took the bike out to Hamilton - Topsfield - Ipswich - Essex and then back to Beverly. I previewed a time trial course I'll be riding on Thursday. Pretty interesting course, but it was the weather that was truly inspiring.
On my way back, I ran into a group of riders that came up from Somerville to do 60+ miles on Cape Ann. It looked like they had a mechanical problem or a direction issue, so I stopped and offered some assistance. It turned out that they were just off course a bit and heading my way, so I made sure they got back as it was approaching sundown.
When we got back to their departing point, we had a 10 - 15 conversation about the roads in my area, their ride & cycling. It was definitely one of those cool cycling moments where you run into some nice people and realize that the majority of cyclist are just super people! Not a bad day!

I figure you guys will get a kick out of this ride I did over the weekend. Lots of familiar old haunts for some of you I am sure.
Great riding weather this weekend in the Boston area!

Nice riding out there! I rode up through Framingham, into Ashland around a reservoir and state park, up Wilson Rd. in Hopkinton (now there is a hill!) and back via Holliston. 33 miles, nice day.

Assabet Rail Trail Marlboro to Acton. Very "cool" Ice House historical site in Maynard. 12.5 pretty level, very easy, shady miles along river and canal. Finished at S. Acton train station.
