Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: '14 Synapse Carbon 5 105

Getting a single speed for free (pics inside)

This bike has been abandoned at my job for a year so no one wants it and I'm taking it home. Bike is pretty light and has the following that I noticed

- Kinetics carbon fork
- Easton EA50 flat handle bar
- WTB seat
- Alexrims R450 front wheel (decent slick tire - both tire and tube will be replaced)
- ZAC18 00 rear wheel (Weinmann) (rear tire is flat - will replace tire and tube)
- Tektro brakes (pads are half worn and will be replaced)

The buildings security approved it so it's on them. I verified with my friend who's been working longer here than I am and it's been there in the same spot for a year and a half

Thought this was gonna be a how-to thread. Slightly disappointed.

Me too.

I can help though:
Step one: get a hacksaw
Step two: hacksaw a lock on a single speed
Step three: have a single speed

You will also need parts one and two on getting a hacksaw. For the people missing brain cells, don't actually do this, stealing bikes is both illegal and wrong.
