Steamroller help

I have a 2008 surly steamroller . I am running single speed mostly stock I have started playing with changing a few things . I changed the bar from drop to a 3 in rise mountain bike style bar , but am thinking of going to a trekking/butterfly bar. my question is how much wider can I go with tires on the stock rims? it has 700 x 25c can I run 30-32 wide on those rims?
Thanks for the help
Roy

If the rim is 25mm in width that you can easily fit 32s.

Without a doubt you should be able to run 32s and maybe even a bit wider if you desire

thanks all. I like the bars on it now better than the original drops. I think I would like the trekking bars . My plans are , trekking bar, wider tires, better rear brakes and maybe a white double cog free wheel.

Surly states Steamroller fits up to 38mm tires, & my kid who rides one has had 35s mounted on Sun CR18s on his (which I am pretty sure is an '08) - but DA22 rim is only 14mm interior width so you may not want to overdo it

Don't forget to post pics in the Steamroller pic thread when you're done...

I have run a 40mm Vitoria Randonneur on the front and regularly ride on 35s.

youll probably be good up to the max the frame will fit (38) on those rims

Tire Sizing Systems

mtbers run 2+" tires on 19mm rims which is way above the green on that chart, and sheldon even says its conservative
