How did you delete them?

The bike looks impeccable! Is the chain always that clean?

My friend let me borrow his risers until I have money for my own. I think I'll end up buying the grips off him

Wide ass risers or you're doing it wrong. (I'm not being serious, but I do own some super wide MTB risers to play around with).

I love the look of these wheels.

I've been wanting to try out some wide ass bars but I ride almost exclusively in the city and I'm not trying to get sideswiped in downtown Chicago. I do have friends who run nearly 700mm bars in the street though

Mumonkan 02-27-16 06:43 PM

dunno how those frisco mash boys do it. the 750 bars on my fatbike are awesome but id never be able to get anywhere near traffic with them lol

then again ive only seen them flying down unoccupied mountains with them, only when b125's were cool did i see vids of them in traffic

SCK 02-27-16 07:00 PM

They're totally impractical if you're riding in the cities with real traffic. They are strangely fun, however.

Hipster bike 3.0, my craigslist build.

Everything but the bar tape was bought 2nd hand on craigslist, swap meets, etc.

I'm only out $200 for the entire thing and it rides great. ( frame is a hair small, but other than that its a great little toy for the local track )

The chain had zero miles on it. The cranks, chain and cog were literally just installed. I wasn't going to let that moment go by without taking a picture. :p

I tried to delete the SRAM logos with various chemicals but the harshest chemicals started taking the black coloring off the levers and did nothing to the white SRAM logo. It's almost as if the levers are anodized white and then the black is put on top of that.

Eventually I just sanded them down to the metal, taped it off and sprayed with Duplicolor primer and gloss back. It was a little tedious and made even more so because the paint didn't adhere at all the first time and I had to repeat. I gave it several coats of primer and wet sanded between coats the second time and was very careful to clean it with Prep-Spray right before each coat. That seemed to have done the trick.

Sounds like a lot of work, but the results speak for themselves. I was hoping there would be a "hack", but apparently not :p

I actually tried a sharpie at one point. The look on my daughter's face was priceless.

Figured if it was good enough for this guy then why not? Didn't work as well though...

Just noticed your bike does not have a head tube decal. Will you be getting one? I think that is an acceptable level of "bling" (Bianchi's is fairly iconic besides).

For $200 total, this is not bad at all. Whats up with the seatpost? And I kind of like how you did the whole upside down thing for the picture.

Jixr 02-28-16 12:01 AM

i dunno, some 'crew' brand seatpost, came with the frame.

Interesting you mention that. I'm open to suggestions and was looking at velocals just the other day.

The original was a rubber sticker, difficult to wax around and such so I took it off. Actually two were on the bike, one on the seat tube as well. They are now stuck on the inside cover of the owners manual.

Have any recommendations?

Don't you have a Bianchi?

My friends all say they stop them from splitting traffic where they're not supposed to

Huffandstuff 02-28-16 02:07 AM

I run into issues on 560s, I couldn't even imagine riding 720s in traffix.

Thank you. I hate to say it but I think they look way more badA$$ than my Archetypes x Phils, especially with knobbys.

Yes I do. The good news is that just about any of these will go with chrome:

the sik skiddiez are a bit harder to do here, but tire rolling resistance isn't really a thing here.
